I do not recommend South Edmonton Oral Surgery. I have been arguing for two months now to get my money back that was charged to my credit card as deposit, but then paid by insurance. First it is because the insurance only pays twice a month, so I waited patiently. Three weeks ago it was confirmed by the dentist's office that the insurance paid and was advised that the final receipt is in the mail and also a check with my money - I guess to reimburse back to the credit card, like many other businesses do, is not possible. When I followed up today to ask what happened to my check and my receipt, I was told that checks get only mailed out twice a month and that the admin had days off and therefore no checks were mailed out. When I pointed out that it has been two months since they took my money and insisted on getting it back, I get the answer, that the doctor is not in the office tomorrow but I get my check if he finds time to sign today. When I pointed out it took me 24 hours to get reimbursed from my benefit provider, I got the snotty answer that I always have the possibility to pay everything up front in cash and then hand the receipt in. This place does everything possible to cover their butts financially, but does not care about you as client. The surgery went ok, and the wait time was not extreme, like in many reviews, but we also had an early morning appointment. I can imagine what patients go through when they have an afternoon appointment. I do not believe that South Edmonton Oral Surgery acts always in good faith.

I had an excellent experience here. I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. McLean. He was very friendly, professional, and thorough. The staff was amazing. The nurses were fun and helped to make the situation more comfortable and fun! The anesthesiologist was amazing; very friendly, and very caring! I had minimal pain, no bruising, and hardly any swelling following the procedure. Following the procedure I had something stuck in one of the pockets and Dr. McLean came in on his day off to see me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Yes, the wait time was longer than expected but I pegged it up to the fact that they cannot predict how each procedure will go and how long it will take. I would rather they be thorough and take excellent care of each patient as they see fit, even if that means it takes a little longer than expected.

Dr. Gotaas and team were unbelievably kind, patient and helpful. They gave clear instructions, helped to ease my anxieties and checked up on me after. The experience was so much better than I imagined it would be!

Waiting to see the doctor was really annoying. First of all when we got their me and my son went into the building my husband and daughter were on their way in upon check in I was told that they would have to wait outside because they wanted to keep the numbers low in the waiting room. I was ok, annoyed but ok. Then after that a lady comes in with her children and they were allowed to come in no problem. I am of visible minority and do not like being discriminated against. I got upset told the ladies I was going to go get my daughter. I did and they looked annoyed they asked to "make sure my child behaved!" they felt the need to tell me this and the other lady with her children were not subjugated to the same warning. Then, son went to get his Wisdom teeth removed looking over the insurance documents they were trying to bill me for 8 teeth being removed (not the 4). Pointed the mistake out the lady "fixed" it but still only removed 2. She then proceed to tell me she needed to check with the nurse to make sure the information I was telling her was accurate. She came back and crossed off the extra claims used white out to fix the form. My son was supposed to get extensive jaw surgery on upper and lower jaw which is part of his dental plan. I'm taking my $11000.00 surgery elsewhere. Because of the treatment I received was horrible. The nurses and doctor were fine but the front end staff was rude and inconsiderate. I also told the referring ortodontist I refuse to now do business with this place. I'm going back to Kingsway Oral Surgery never had problems there.

The staff were very friendly and patient. Happy I had my wisdom teeth pulled here. They made me feel comfortable and kept the small talk going, which helped de-stress!

I recommend this place for everyone. Dr. Reiter was very thorough. He did a good job of explaining my situation. The nurses and staff are great. I enjoyed my first visit with that appointment. Everyone was kind and friendly. My wait time was short and I was done in an hour and 1/2 and that is a big plus to me.

Had my impacted wisdom tooth removed. Dr. Lam was superb and the nurses and staff were very friendly. They took a good care and went through all the details. The only negative for me was the waiting time. I had my appointment at 1pm but the surgery didn't started until around 3 pm, although it might be because of the COVID-19. But overall experience was very satisfying. They maintain proper hygiene and have a nice waiting area with tv and WiFi :D I would definitely recommend this place!

I'd like to start by saying I have never in my life left a negative review. But I feel very strongly about this. I'd like to give South Edmonton Oral Surgery 5 stars, as the nurses and the operating doctor were very good with my 13 year old daughter. And the booking staff was fantastic aw well. However I wouldn't advise anyone with young kids, or children with high anxiety to go here. The anesthesiologist involved in my daughter's surgery was completely uncompassionate and had zero patience for her anxiety. She was hysterical about the mask they were using to sedate her and he was so very rude to her and my husband, telling her she should just leave and go home. Scowling at her. As if it's her choice or fault that she needs an exposure done. I also work in health care and understand a person can become jaded, but maybe it's time to retire. You've successfully further traumatized my child's perception of doctors and health care. And I will absolutely be passing this concern along to the orthodontist who referred us, and many others, here.
