If your vegan or vegetarian you need to try the jackfruit sandwich (tastes just like pulled pork) or the egusi soup with pounded yam or fufu both 10/10!

Went for dinner tonight was extremely impressed with the food, service & atmosphere!! We thoroughly enjoyed generous portions of their Bacon & Blue Mac 'N' Cheese, Bruschetta Bread, and Chicken Fingers & Fries, all which have become delicious leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Karen and her staff are lovely people, the place is so cozy and clean and the menu is so unique - you have to come see this little gem for yourself!!

I went here today and purchased oxtail , jerk chicken and Mac and cheese. The oxtail was 2/10 ( not tasty like a real Caribbean dish and not well cooked ). The jerk chicken was 6/10 ( there was good taste but it was served with boneless chicken strips ). The mac and cheese was amazing 9/10 ( creamy tasty and great portion ). I have no plans to return to this restaurant for the above meals except the mac and cheese that was really good. I tried to support local business but I cannot return for those meals. Just my honest review :)

We visited Soulful Cafe last Friday for the first time, drawn by the promise of live music, and we weren't disappointed. I ordered the jerk chicken Jamaican sandwich which was enough for two. It was delicious. My friend ordered the blue cheese Mac and cheese and loved it. Check out their menu...poutine, pizza.....etc....The server was very pleasant. Every Friday they have a very talented bluesy guitar player with musical friends joining him (sorry sir your name escapes me) if you want good food and music try Soulful. Support local. Support live music.

What a beautiful little gem! We stopped in here for lunch on our way through and it was an absolute pleasure! The service was top notch and so welcoming. I had the Jamaican Sandwich. This was one of the BEST sandwiches I've ever had! It was a straight trip to flavor town! I will be thinking about this sandwich for a very long time! Support this local business because it deserves some major props!!

Food: 7/5. If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would! The owner of the place Karen, and her chef, did an absolutely outstanding job with the menu. It’s creative, flavourful, modern, fun and delicious! No matter what we ordered, or what we decided to try, everything was good. I don’t have a single complaint about anything we had. Perfect amount of flavour and spice. Didn’t even need the salt and pepper they kept on the table. It was perfect. We usually don’t even eat that much but it was so good we couldn’t stop! Ambience: 4/5. Good music in the background. The patio is cute, quaint and had an element of privacy to it with the surrounding hedges along the perimeter. The Soulful Kafe sign is so cute, and I think the little details are what makes this place great! Cleanliness: 5/5. The staff in this establishment work hard to keep the chairs and tables sanitized and cleaned for all their guests. Had no complaints about cleanliness. Had no issues with the cleanliness of the cutlery and food too. Karen holds the place up to a high standard and I commend her for it! The bathrooms are still under Reno due to covid-19 when we were there so I will not be rating their bathrooms Service: 7/5. We had a wonderful young server who was very attentive, sweet and kind. I wish I remembered her name, but she was great! Karen, the owner - I can’t say enough about her. It’s always wonderful to see the face behind the restaurant. She’s a genuine, hospitable, hardworking woman. You can tell just from meeting her why the food tastes as good as it does, she puts her heart and soul into it and you can taste it! I hope this encourages everyone apprehensive of trying this place to go try it!!!

Had the best African suya (barbecued beef sirloin strips) here. The poundo yam and soup were prepared from scratch (a la Carte). Faith the chef was awesome as well as Karen the owner. Would definitely visit again. Awesome experience.

Last night we ate at the Soulful Kafe. My wife and I both love Portuguese and Jamaican food. We figured Soulful Kafe could offer us the best of both worlds. We didn't realize that they also had an extensive Nigerian menu! If you have ever had the pleasure to walk into Soulful Kafe- you will feel right at home. It provides a very welcoming environment. The owner Karen made us both feel like we were part of her family. Another woman walked in and we all ended up sitting together and sharing the food from all 3 menus. The food was out of this world! This is truly Brantfords hidden gem, and a must try for everyone. The best part of the evening? The conversation along with the amazing food that was shared between 4 strong women. We feel like we have made new friends for life and after all is said and done- provided us with a sense of community, and normalacy that we have not felt for a few years. Thank you Soulful Kafe for welcoming us. You have new customers for life! And we discovered that we really love Nigerian food!
