About Sorensen's Furniture

Sorensen’s Fine Furniture opened its doors in Saskatoon in August of 2014. Currently the sister store of Furniture World which has been in operation in Saskatoon since 1990, the Sorensen family saw the opportunity and need to expand their operation, and Sorensen’s Fine Furniture was born. The showroom boasts 15,000 sq. ft. of furniture primarily made up of La-Z-Boy furniture along with an extensive collection of top quality bedroom suites by Durham Furniture, dining room suites by Canadel, and a Simmons mattress gallery offering a substantial number of models to choose from.

Being North America’s largest LA-Z-Boy Comfort Studio has enabled us to offer more variety and selection than we ever did previously. With over 40 sofa groupings, 100+ chairs, coffee and end tables, and accent pieces, we’ve made every effort to bring the latest styles and designs to the Saskatoon market.

The Sorensen family… Kris, Julie, Jeff and Kristy would like to welcome everyone to visit our new store and experience a relaxing tour through North America’s best manufacturers.

Apart from the sales of the top quality home furnishings, we offer excellent customer service and home delivery. Our highly trained delivery staff will make sure your experience with us ends as perfectly as it started.

Excellent place to shop for some great quality furniture. The staff and owners are friendly and knowledgeable and nice thing is that they are non-commission sales staff, so there is no pressure while shopping. While shopping I dealt with Diane and owner Kris and they were great to deal with. I purchased a few items in store and special ordered a few pieces and the delivery guys were at my place twice for one reasonable delivery fee. Speaking of the delivery staff, they were friendly, helpful, courteous and explained all about the recliner chairs and the power reclining sofa I purchased and set up and tested everything. Last of all when you set up a time for delivery, it is usually within an hour time frame instead of 4-5 hours when they could show up (like a lot of places that have delivery); both times I had booked between 3-4 pm and they were here at 3:00 (much appreciated). Thanks again for the great experience.

Went to buy a recliner. Had never been there before, but appreciated the no pressure sales team. It was the fourth or fifth store I stopped at and finally found a great chair. Was in, helped, had the order written up and delivery scheduled in under approx 30 mins. Not to mention I got lucky and stopped in on an extra discount day. I am still awaiting delivery - based on my experience so far I do not expect to have to adjust my review.

Sales team there is very knowledgeable and helpful and doesn’t pressurize to buy anything. They have unique collection of furniture. I had ordered a coffee table and 2 end tables. I was supposed to pick up from Prince Albert but they delivered it without asking for delivery fee. I haven’t even made full payment of the order yet. Koodos to the team for treating your customers like that. Have not seen such exceptional customer service anywhere else

A pleasant experience would not adequately describe our visit to Sorensen's Furniture. We were just looking. We thought we might be interested in a reclining loveseat. Lorna was very helpful, asking the right questions, to figure out what we really needed. We ultimately settled on two La-Z-Boy rocker/recliners with all the bells and whistles (including power lumbar support). As we were finalizing our decision, Kris came out and joined our discussion. I can honestly say that our experience was more than pleasant. It was FUN, one that will be remembered for a long time. Many thanks to the staff at Sorensen's Furniture. We would highly recommend you to anyone looking for new furniture, and a FUN experience...

When we all buy furniture our friends and family are anxious to see it but don't come over to try the drawers and doors to see if they shut right but rather they come to see how the furniture looks. After all, you buy all kinds of things like clothes, cars, etc., and fort sure furniture to be seen. I especially know this having once been in the furniture business myself with "Grosvenor Fine Furniture" (located right where "Furniture World's" store is today on 2nd ave no.. Recently we spent over $5,000 on a bedroom suite made by Durham Furniture, in Durham Ontario, through their local Saskatoon dealer "Sorensen's Furniture" (sister company to that of "Furniture World"). Durham Furniture built and shipped the suite to their dealer several months later and then Sorensen's delivered it to our home. Below you can see photos of the suite as it was received. In the right light, as shown, everyone saw the finish with the stain dripping from drawer to drawer. We were embarassed and felt the product fell short of what it should have been. When we saw it we immediately went to Sorensen's with our complaint. They said they'd go to Durham Furniture. We were told that Durham's sale representative would come out to see the furniture first hand. After a couple of months hearing nothing, we again went back to Sorensens and, as well, directly to Durham. Again, we waited. So, again, we went to both wondering what was to be done. Back when we were in the furniture business we undertook a complete examination of goods when received and if we considered them to be flawed or damaged goods, the first thing we did was go to the manufacturer questioning how the goods got by their own imspection before shipping and how did they want it returned. The customer rarely received a product flawed or damaged and if they somehow did, we ikmmediately ordered a replacement and upon it's arrival simply replaced the damaged with the new. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!! Shortly after we received a phone call from sorensen himself advising us that the issue is not a flaw but a characteristic of the wood called "crossfire". He went on to say there would be no refund or replacement "case closed"!!! We protested suggesting we would be going to consumer affairs to which he replied "that sound like you're threatening me" (I have this recorded). Subsequently, Durham came back (no surprise) advising the same thing. We advised both that we feel warranty should cover it. Durham said that their warranty is not for one year but for one year from whenever they invoice the dealer. So, too, says Sorenson! (see photo of the Durham warranty as it appears on their website) At no time were we made aware that their warranty was less than one year nor advised to look to their website for warranty details. Nor were we provided with a copy of Durham Furniture's invoice to Sorensen! We feel this is the dealer's responsibility! Oddly, Durham's warranty no longer appears on their website "Warranty Terms: Durham Furniture offers a warranty against manufacturing and material defects for a period of one year from date of invoice to dealer. In fact, Durham Furniture has one of the lowest warranty claim rates in the industry. For more information about our warranty, please contact our Customer Service team". Our next course of action is with Saskatchewan Consumer Affairs, the Better Business Bureau and VISA with whom we have an additional year's warranty through as we made the purchase with our VISA card! All else failing, we'll have no course left but through our lawyer to see how a court sees the circumstances.
