It's dark. It's terrible. Used to have great full shelves with clear pricing . Now everything is low, on black shelving, hard to see...cluttered. Such a waste of space. It looks like an expensive junk shop.

I have never, in all my years of going to over 100 different ReStores across the USA and Canada come to one that prices their items using a formula derived off the items MSRP. It is not uncommon to come to this ReStore, and see a switch priced at $70 because some industrial business supplier on some website is selling the switch for $140. Many other ReStores sell light switches for 50 cents or less. Right after that happened, I went to my favourite surplus store, and found the same switch, NOS, for around $3. That switch at the ReStore is still sitting on the shelf to this day, and I first saw that switch in the store about 2 years ago. This is the same for both Saskatoon and Regina ReStores, so it’s just greedy management that does not represent what Habitat for Humanity is all about. Especially with the amount of items WHICH PEOPLE HAVE DONATED, are THROWN AWAY, because the item didn’t sell for 50% of MSRP. I’d like to know the source of their found MSRP too, especially since most items sold here are over 30 years old on average. How are you finding a 40 year old USED products MSRP anyway, let alone selling it for that? The value of a product depreciates naturally over time, and they don’t seem to understand that concept by using the formula they use. Why not SELL THE ITEMS AT A REASONABLE PRICE, not based on a formula, LIKE EVERY OTHER RESTORE IN NORTH AMERICA!!! That way, you WONT have to throw away so much, and YOU’LL BE MAKING A PROFIT AT THE SAME TIME, with the ITEMS YOU WERE ABOUT TO TOSS!!! I have talked to many people who agree that the ReStores in Saskatchewan are overpriced, and like another review here said; 100 items sold at 10% MSRP is better than a couple sold at 50%. If they would take some advice from these reviews, their sales will potentially go up due to the positive word of mouth advertising you’d get. Remember, this business is all profit. It’s not like they’re reselling stuff, everything gets donated. That’s a 100% profit margin. Plus, most ReStore associates are volunteers who don’t get paid, or minimum wage employees. So selling an item at a price derived off the MSRP at a place like this is total greed. Throwing things out when they don’t sell however, is another level of incompetence and complete disrespect to the person donating the item. Until management at both restores fixes their act and stops being a glorified hardware store, I suggest just not shopping here. Once they see a drop in sales (or god forbid profit), that’ll force them to rethink, especially when the CEO can’t go on his yearly holiday to Europe, or pay off his home on Sask Crescent... Then maybe they’ll listen to the consumer. This is a charity, not a real business. Go to Kijiji, or other thrift stores, surplus stores, auction shops, or garage sales which are FAR more reasonably priced, and who you can actually negotiate with, until Habitat for Humanity Saskatchewan fixes their act. Don’t reply to this with a “boilerplate copy and paste” reply of “our policy is 50% of msrp and if you see something different let us know”..... That’s not the point here. If you feel the need to write that, read my review again and then go read some others. The idea here is to DITCH THE FORMULA, STOP BEING SO WASTEFUL & DISRESPECTFUL, and maybe start acting like a ReStore, not a discount hardware or liquidation outlet.

We have been going there for years. It was always a great place to find real deals, be part of recycling, and get inspired by unique items to try something new. That was before. Now there are fewer items and they are ridiculously overpriced. You can still find the odd little interesting thing but it’s a shadow of what it was. Very disappointing!

We have been wanting to go there to see what they had for used windows, doors, paint, etc. We never expected them to be closed Mondays. When you have to drive 2.5 hours to get to the city, and severe frost boils on the highways, it's not that easy to get there on a whim!

If you're looking for stuff to complete your house on a budget, this is the place! They are also having a 75% off sale right now to get rid of stock. Flooring parts too are easy to find. I was looking for a stair nose and other combo pieces and they were only $15 (before the discount!). Normally in the store they are $30-$50! Love this place :)

I miss how the store was before. What an ugly waste of space. Everything is on the floor or low shelves now. And the place is super dark. Only go here now if necessary. Prices aren't really good anymore either. Such a shame

I was going to buy a lamp shade and it was $ 5 without the lamp. I said that is too much. I offered $3 which was declined. I then went back to the lamps and found the exact same lamp shade (ceiling hugger) for $3. I was told at the till:” you are lucky because we forgot to up price that one”. I pointed out that $5 is unreasonable for a piece of second hand glass. He then twice he refused to sell it to me for the price stated on the price tag and said:” if you don’t like it here then shop at Rona”. I wanted it because the main part of the lamp I had at home without the glass so he finally agreed to sell it to me for the price on the price tag. ( complete set at Rona is $10, brand new). What a toxic and nasty environment. Very disappointed as I was used to excellent customer service at the Restore. They all greeted me and knew my name and I knew theirs. It was my favourite outing. I won’t be donating anything any longer. And I am a customer who used to spend between $3000-$5000 per year as I own 10 rental houses. This was in Prince Albert.
