β β β β β We came here to retire and it's been a horrible experience. Mistruths from Sales, late delivery of the home, errors in construction. We wish we had researched Parkbridge more thoroughly before we bought. You'll find many issues with this company at their various developments across Canada. Poor customer relations, dissatisfied homeowners and inability to retain staff is common. Although we were not affected by having a lien placed on our house, some of our neighbours did due to non-payment to their trades. We were told by the Sales department that we would pay property tax only on the house. This is incorrect as you also pay the tax on the land even though it is leased from Parkbridge and you pay a monthly amount for the lease of the land. It's like paying twice plus they keep raising the rent. The homeowners are so nice but Parkbridge isn't.

β β β β β Don't even consider buying at Solstice. The sales team will mislead you about the lease and your longterm financial obligations to Parkbridge. There is no Province protection under the 99 year lease and you'll end up paying for the Capital Expenditures and improvements. Rent is not controlled by the provincial law and Parkbridge can raise rents as they see fit with impunity. If challenged, the homeowner will also have to pay their court costs, even if they lose. It's all in the Lease! Read carefully and be aware of what you're getting into.

β β β β β The concept to lease the land and still own your (brand new) home is fantastic! We have the freedom and cash to enjoy our lives and travel like we always dreamed! We have lived at Solstice nearly four years and love our beautiful home, neighborhood and the community. We made sure to do our homework, and although there are land lease increases, with the Kelowna market it just doesnβt compare. We would have spent far more to have these views in a new home! We felt the amount of paperwork was overwhelming, but now worth the value we received.

β β β β β We couldnβt be happier with our decision to buy a home at Solstice. We love the concept of not tying up our money in the land, we have a brand new beautiful home with little to no maintenance. The community is quiet and serene. Lots of walking and hiking trails and great golf! The neighbors are wonderful, the purchase of our home was great. The construction is sound.
It is close to everything, shopping, YMCA, airport, skiing...We highly recommend this to all our friends, family and anyone that may be looking for a new place to call home in Kelowna!
