Sobeys Newcastle - Edmonton

This is the second time I've bought moldy products from this store. A couple weeks ago I bought a Greek yogurt that despite still being sealed and well before its date had gone bad. I guess I need to pay better attention when I shop here.

My mother went into the shop to get some stuff for mt sisters birthday, and the manager (peter) made her feel very uncomfortable. He followed her around the entire store staring at her. So we called to find out why she was being followed by this creepy man and he started to yell at us, and refused to give us the HR number. Hopefully the right people see this review and get him sorted out. Shop local people

This location is fine for the essentials if you need something quick from the grocery store and the staff is friendly enough, but this location is quite small. This store doesn’t have self check out, the staff roster is minimal and their bakery leaves a lot to be desired. You’re better off going to the Castledowns location for a more full-fledge Sobeys experience.

I haven't been able to find my coffee. So I stopped two gentleman in front of me asking why can't I find it. He was nice enough to go and check. If any are in the warehouse I will get a call back. Thank you so much.

Nice looking store but the already prepared meals under the warmer aren't good quality. My chicken wings were slimey and wet , inedible due to the texture and they were just sitting in the juices. I had to put them in the oven to try and crisp them up, not worth the 11 dollars for 8 wings. Really ridiculous.

Every now and then you come across a place that surprises you, soby's NewCastle is one of these places. One of the first things that you will notice is the layout, on the right side of the store you will notice all the fresh products, for example fresh hot to go items like chicken wings, ribs, homemade sushi rolls, salads and finger foods, baked chicken and even hot and cold sandwiches pre-made ready to grab and eat right away, which is great for people who are in a big rush and unable to make something on a short notice. You'll also find a fresh meat counter as well as a seafood and fish counter, deli meats ready to be sliced and a large assortment of cheeses looking for those hard to find T-Bones look no further they have those here too. You will also be able to get fresh cut fruit already portioned out on bladders or if you like small trays and containers for smaller groups. A fresh bakery with lots of breads cakes cookies squares and desserts to meet your fancy tastes. And walk over to the left side and you can go regular grocery shopping with all your known brands. The thing that strikes me about this store is there quality of products and how they meticulously stock the shelves in a very neat and organized manner the store is always kept very clean and the staff are amazingly friendly and are always willing to help whenever they are needed. The store manager is probably one of the friendliest people you will see and I can understand why his staff are so well in tune with the customer's needs. I have to say my hats are off to all the staff at sobey's Newcastle and thank you very much for having such high standards for us to shop in. Please keep up the good work as I know many as well as myself can say that this is my favorite sobies in Edmonton.

Always nice, close by, and great people. Come here every month and the staff are tremendously amazing. They chat with you briefly while they ring you through, always polite and I know its a customer service standard to ask how someone's day is going, but they do it best here. ?

This is my fav grocery of all grocery stores since I began grocery shopping for myself when i started living on my own. I love the prepared meals section, as its healthy, fresh and a way better alternative than fast-food. I enjoy shopping here as it is quiet and they have v good working hours. The staff here are also helpful and not disgruntled like other big grocery stores.
