A proudly Canadian company with more than 110 years in the food business, Sobeys Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Empire Company Limited, headquartered in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. The Sobeys name is synonymous with quality and passion. Now we’ve brought it to liquor stores across Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Here’s how: in 1993, the Alberta Provincial Government announced the privatization of the liquor retail industry. Capitalizing on this important change, we launched Western Cellars, which opened its first location in Spruce Grove in November 1995. In 2014 Sobeys Liquor acquired Safeway Wine & Spirits. Since then, we’ve grown steadily to over 100 locations across Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan.

After being given a hard time about my Janssen single dose vaccine at a different store (they couldn't comprehend a 2nd dose wasn't needed), I was thankful the door screener was educated on the government approved inoculations. He swifly reviewed my documentation, granted me entry and I found everything I needed at an excellent price. All the staff was friendly and accommodating. It's only fair I leave a positive review after leaving negative feedback for the other store. Appreciated supporting a business that appreciated mine! Sobey's for the win!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good store with almost everything I could want..very large walk-in beer and craft refill area. The scotch area has mid/low end with a couple at the unrealistic high end. Not a great 18/21 year selection.

But I'm in the south end n for some stupid reason there is no place to get booze after 11pm on most nights, I think sobeys might be open til midnight fridays & Saturdays. Time for someone to open up an off sale on south albert again! And I dont even drink ffs
