S	Scott MC on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just finished a year of the interlock program. The device is stressful to deal with at times and you must be persistent with the call centre to get anything done. Curtis the tech at the regina location is as knowledgeable about vehicle mechanics and the interlock device as they come. If he is seemingly less than approachable at first try sparking a conversation, it makes his time and yours more enjoyable.

The initial install failed on cold Friday morning and my wife was stuck without a vehicle, I quickly began inspecting the wiring coming from the head unit leading to the relay and wiring into the vehicles ignition. The install was terrible to say the least, wires were stripped and twisted together with new ones, some tapped up and others simply left bare. We were then stuck with no vehicle through the weekend until Monday when the tech had time to come inspect the smartstart unit, and told us that the relay unit was not working and that they would have to remove it and reschedule a reinstall another day later in the week, still leaving my wife without the ability to drive her vehicle. When they called, at a moment's notice we were expected to show up and be at their office so they could fix their mistakes. When we arrived at the shop it was pretty typical aside from the most senior staff member didn't wear a mask through the majority of the work being done. Finally I'd like to note that I feel the second install will fail also due to the wiring, although they soldered the wiring this time none of it was sealed or shrink-wrapped, just tapped with clear tape. All of these little issues are direct proof that SGI needs to offer more than one outlet for this service!

While the service they provide may well have value, the way in which they provide it does not match the standard of ethical behaviour that most other companies are held to.

Technicians aren't qualified to work on a hot wheels car never mind a motorised vehicle. Destroyed my power windows upon installation which i had to front the money to get repaired ($1100). Make you watch a silly 5 minute video which does little to explain on how the device works. If you brush your teeth moments before starting your vehicle expect a violation on the device with no way to get out of it and then be expected to pay $125 with no refund as this company defines extortion. The call centre is garbage and leaves you on hold longer than the time needed to resolve any issues you may have with the device, which results in....you guessed it a violation. Wouldn't recommend this service to my worst enemy, would just recommend to be smart and responsible when operating a vehicle so they don't have to deal with these yahoo's they should all be fired for their incompetence. Any reviews that are positive about this place are false/lies and were probably made by the yahoo staff themselves. Thanks for nothing as i could have gotten around fine without having a vehicle and license for the year as i have a decent support system around me but the crooked government made it mandatory. Its actually a good thing the unqualified staff keep trashing vehicles with this device as smart start has to refund the costly fix and make nothing from their monthly fee that way. keep up the great work you bunch of plums :) ?
