I didn't know what the process would be like and the young man who helped me didn't really explain anything to me in terms of how they assess the value. He wasn't familiar dealing with platinum so he had to call his boss to get a quote. His boss explained to me that they only pay for the price of the metals, so the price would be nothing close to the value I paid for the piece or the insurance appraised value. That was understandable. I just wish they would have walked me through the process better.
