We had a lovely, lovely stay at Skipping Stone. Tanis and Paul were attentive without ever being intrusive, and the spot is just amazing. Beautiful sunsets every night. Tanis' fresh baking is a treat. The pictures don't do it justice. Tanis explained that they like to underpromise and overdeliver, and they really do. Thanks so much -- we'll be back!

My fiancee and I stayed with Tanis and Paul for 3 nights in October. They were fantastic hosts, very kind and welcoming. The suite was comfortable and had all the appointments required for a short stay. The view is absolutely stunning, and we woke up to beautiful sunrises overlooking the water. We spent quite a bit of time admiring the view from the private beach where you can watch the ferries come into Salt Spring Island from Crofton. On top of all that, the breakfasts were excellent, with freshly baked scones and muffins from Tanis that we still talk about! Added to freshly ground coffee, juices, fruit, fresh bread and jams, and yogurt with granola, we always were satisfied prior to starting our day. We will definitely be returning after such a wonderful experience!

We are catching up on reviews in this pandemic down-time and wanted to give a 5 star to our favourite Salt Spring hosts Tanis and Paul. We stayed with them last June on my birthday. We plan to, hopefully, move to Salt Spring and they were very kind to us in giving us a rundown on all things Salt Spring + we had a great stay! Since then we have stayed in contact and are very happy we made such wonderful friends during our stay. See you both again soon! <3 Cameron & Cassandra

We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at Skipping Stone. We were on SSI during a heatwave and were grateful to have the ocean at our feet. It might have been six or seven swims in three days :) Tanis and Paul checked in on us regularly vis-a-vis our comfort with the heat. We were nice and cool in the suite. We arrived on SSI with plans for eating out each night and wound up opting for food from the comfort of our private patio. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Had a great two night stay at skipping stone in the studio suite. It was lovely, like our hosts Tanis and Paul. The suite was very clean and the view from bed was exceptional. Sunsets are amazing from skipping stone as it points northwest. Local hikes were close by and it was a short drive from town. Tanis also makes delicious baked goods.

A group of friends and I rented out both suites for a weekend on Salt Spring and it was the perfect home base to explore the island. The suites were comfortable, cozy, and steps away from the beach. Not only that, but Tanis and Paul were exceptional hosts. I'm very grateful for their recommendations and for Tanis' delightful baked goods. The view here is nothing short of beautiful. Highly recommend!

It was our second time staying at Skipping Stone. Our hosts were wonderful- just like our last stay. Respectful of privacy and friendly at the same time, we had some really great conversations and wonderful moments sitting on the beach. Looking forward to spending more time there. Aside from that- Tanis' baking is awesome. We looked forward to every breakfast- especially the baking- but even on the mornings without the fresh baking, the fridge had everything you could want. Beautiful yogurt, fresh jam, the best granola... Everything was soooo good! If you're into skipping rocks, the beach is littered with the best skipping rocks-- maybe on the planet. Keep your shoulder in good shape and remember to warm up, we spent hours skipping rocks at sunset. Very highly recommended.

Very lovely owners, who make scones every second day. Excellent view. The b&b area itself Is simple but warm and clean. The only negative is the bathroom. I’m 6 foot one and 215 pounds, and it’s hard to wash yourself with a handheld sprayer attached to the nozzle. It doesn’t reach far enough for my head, and with bad knees it’s uncomfortable to squat. But otherwise great place to stay on Saltspring.
