Stable light powder. Easy terrain to manage groups with all runs either wide open or nicely gladed to access roads. Comfortable lodging with easy airport access. Could not be more powderhound friendly

We loved Skeena! They went completely above and beyond for us when our truck broke down. The guides were great and accommodating. Even though it was -26 they still took us out. We will definitely book again next year!!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Very professional guides, comfortable accommodations and good food. Little wonder this is the #1 cat skiing place around. Every run was first tracks, in massive amounts of powder. Well worth the money.

AWESOME!!!. What a great trip. Highly recommend if u are into cat skiing. The whole operation was wonderful. Lynn the coordinator is extremely helpful. The guides (Matt & carla) were outstanding, always put in the best spots, made sure we were safe and also made sure we had a blast on the slopes. The terrain was incredible and the range of possibilities in terms of terrain was endless. The huts u stay in were comfortable and warm. The main tent was a hub of activity, the food was delicious, the bar well used, and the staff in general were great. Overall an incredible trip. Best cat skiing experience so far (I have cat skied at 5 places). Not easy to get to but the journey was part of the adventure. UPDATE: March 2020 - Trip #2. Another fantastic trip with Skeena CatSkiing. The crew at Skeena is top notch, the terrain, the chef (Bailey this time) and the atmosphere are incredible. 5 STARS. It is a special place. The snow plentiful on our trip, it snowed each day/night, the last day they estimated 20 cm fresh, I think it was more.

The Skeena Catskiing experience is exceptional. Basecamp may be no frills but the terrain is deluxe, powder is deeply plush and staff are genuine. We stayed for 3 nights and skied 3 days and I don’t think I could have skied another run I was so exhausted after 13K vert/day. (Would highly recommend renting a powder specific board from the ski shop in Smithers.) Staying at basecamp meant we were on the first run each morning within 10 minutes of leaving camp in the cat. Guides are diligent about keeping the pace moving and want to get max runs in each day. The guides worked hard to open new terrain on the last day. Each day it snowed and it just got deeper and deeper. As a snowboarder I appreciated the solid fall lines to get out and that most runs ended right on a road so I felt confident I wouldn’t get too far off track if I wanted to explore. The most unexpected experience of the trip was the interaction with the unpretentious Skeena staff. They are obviously integral to keeping the operation running, but their grit, determination and enthusiasm for what they are creating in the B.C. backcountry is inspiring. The chef created tasty and nutritious meals that kept us well fueled. We researched a lot of catski places but chose Skeena because it is the farthest north, reports the coldest temps and moisture is always around.

If you like your skiing adventurous and filled with powder but prefer glamping over fancy hotels, this is the place to be. The skiing isn't extreme; if you can handle advanced runs at resort, you can handle this terrain. The base camp isn't fancy- heated insulated tents and a very nice common tent for dining and socializing. We've been here twice and the biggest change is the helicopter to get to base camp from Smithers which saves several hours of transit time, and the improved staff quality. This year's 2022 staff is more competent than 2020 staff, who were often trying to do several different jobs at the same time. If the transit to Smithers seems impossible to coordinate, ask about flying to Terrace which has more flights. Sometimes, they can accommodate Terrace. A very special experience being in remote Northern BC on Native land in the dark of winter!

We went to Skeena with a group of 11 friends and had the most amazing time! The best turns of our lives, great guides, delicious food, and such warm and genuine hosts. I would recommend this trip to anyone and can't wait to go back!
