Beautiful beach! There’s a stunning waterfall in a cave if you turn left and follow the second stream up from the beach at Sombrio Beach East. You will have to walk through shallow ice cold water to reach it. The rocks are slippery so be careful. Walk further down the beach and over the interesting rock formations by the shoreline to see a second waterfall cascading into the ocean.

Possibly the best hike our family has ever embarked on...spectacular! Here is a little **secret**, walk down to the beach, from the 2 main paths of course... Once you reach the beachfront look to your left... You will see a land outlet petruding slightly... Turn your body and head in the direction... Walk around the outlet (1/2 km) ... Still on the beach of course.... Once past the outlet there is a little sketchy downward slope that you will navigate... Keep going... It's worth it...in just a few moments you will see a little river running into the ocean... Stop.. Right across this tiny river there is a narrow trail... Take this trail, it only takes moments... The trail is short...follow it to the end :)

One of best spots to camp and hike along Juan De Fuca marine trail. Campsites are well maintained and can get busy on weekends. We arrived on Friday night and got a good camping spot in mid-June and close to the beach. Nice experience to have a camp fire overlooking the beach and sleep listening to waves. Our campsite was next to river creek flowing into the ocean as well. Plenty of day hikes around this campsite.

It's an ideal spot for photos and just to unwind watch the waves crash and the surfers smash

Magical and breathe taking...explore the Juan de fuca trail and listen to the sounds of the ocean while you rest. Beautiful Sunsets and evening stars. The hidden waterfalls and take a walk on the beach after the tide goes out and you will see...

Steep gravel road full of deep potholes to get down here. Definitely don't recommend driving small cars down there we barely made it back up. Once you get to the parking lot steep downhill trail to get to the beach. If you're wanting to do the waterfall be prepared for sore feet as it's rock beach almost all the way. I would say based on the trail to get down/up there and the rock beach that it's an intermediate hike. People camp there on the beach so you have to walked around their tents. You can watch surfers catching waves. It took is probably about 30 minutes to get to it. You have to climb up the runoff stream/creek to get to the spot shown in my photo, so your feet will get wet. Bring extra socks/shoes.

Went searching for the canyon, couldn’t find it. Was still a beautiful beach, lots of people surfing here! Very easy to access beach!

Rocky beach which was hard to traverse, be careful if you have knee or joint problems. Nice hidden waterfall that is tricky to find but worth the excursion. Google directions before to avoid missing it.
