I moved several times to the country for my job, usually I had United Company, but this year was Sirva Canada, very disappointed with their service, and their professionalism in taking care of the goods, a lot of damage and neglect during moving. I do not recommend this company

The third party moving company hired by Allied Van Lines to pack up the house damaged everything we owned before it left Edmonton.

Barb from Sirva handled a damages claim that resulted from an inter-provincial move we did with North American Van Lines. Even though I had made some mistakes on the claim form, she allowed us to make the corrections and made the whole process painless. Excellent customer service!

I recieved a pack, load, move and unpack from Sirva (North American Van Lines). The move itself seemed to go alright, until I noticed a bundle of stuff missing that had all been on the same shelf at my old house. A tablet computer and some other electronics totalling around $1000 never made it to my new place. As well, two other items of mine were damaged in the move. Their reasoning for not compensating me: The items that went missing cannot be replaced because I signed for all of the boxes when they arrived. This means that because of their poilicies, their employees can literally STEAL THINGS and there is absolutely zero protection for the customer. Any one of my movers could have slipped the tablet into his pants or an open toolbox and just walked away. No protection whatsoever. My signing for the boxes simply proves that items that were PACKED made it to my place but how can I guarantee that they packed every item? Also there were sticker mixups twice on arrival. Two boxes had double stickers on them and one of the boxes had rubbed it's own sticker onto the box beside it while in my apartment. Who's to say that the box that this particular shelf was in never recieved a sticker/register by accident or other means? What about if it lost its sticker in the truck? My tablet is probably in a box somewhere with a bunch of other unlabelled stuff that never got brought up. The items that were damaged in the move cannot be compensated because I didn't IMMEDIATELY notice them when the unpackers unpacked. My DSLR camera was clearly dropped from its top shelf, breaking the lens despite being in its case. Due to the fact that my camera is in a case, I didn't notice that it was broken until three weeks later. If you think that they give you 90 days to submit a claim so that you are protected, that is FALSE. You must immediately recognize all damage to your goods WHILE THE UNPACKERS ARE STILL THERE. AT NO POINT WAS THIS MADE CLEAR TO ME.

I hired Allied Van Lines for a cross country full service move. Several items were damaged and 6 weeks after no one has done anything about it. Seems on par with the repair of the damages to my vehicle which took 2 months to repair. Worst of all, many items went missing in the move, including important tax documents. The packing team seemed to just toss things into the boxes, without regard for damages. The adjusters at SIRVA are hopeless and do nothing. I am facing tens of thousands of dollars in losses if I don’t locate my tax documents. But they don’t care. They are often too lazy to even answer an email. One of my items was out for repair across the country for 6 weeks and was returned to me with just some glue plastered on top. Is this a joke? Are these people serious?

I paid 4000.00 to move 20' of personal belongings from Montreal to Toronto. I knew it was far too expensive but had no choice due to time constraints. I asked that the freight not be transferred but it was 2 times requiring it's handling 6 times. Now, with extensive damage Silva will not cover all the total losses. They are asking for proof of ownership (as if i was moving someone else belongings) and proof of purchase from a Great Grandmother who passed in 1996 at age 86. I never received any explanation as to what happened. Stay away from Meldrum Moving and if you don't just hope you do not have any damage. Note that the Silva employees refuse to call or answer their phone.

Worst service I have ever experienced. I booked an interprovincial move through a broker of allied van lines and they caused almost $4000 worth of damages. The heavy duty totes that we bought to package our delicate items were clearly abused and handled poorly. It takes a lot to get those things cracked and ripped up but they managed to do it and destroy all the valuables that we placed in them. Their claims department took a month to get back to us after we submitted the claim and after constant daily phone calls and messages. After following up daily with them, I'm at 6 weeks and their staff are taking no accountability and deferring to insurance, of which the coverage is a laughable peanuts worth. The guys that picked up and dropped off all our stuff were very delicate with everything in our house while we were watching. The problem is as soon as it goes in the truck and gets unloaded and reloaded at the warehouse, I had no visibility on how they were handling things. It's also worth noting they were 3 weeks late on bringing us half of our things. They did commit to pay reparations for the late delivery after six weeks of emails and phone calls on my end. If you want to waste half your time following up on damages and don't need the items you're having shipped to show up in one piece, then go ahead and book with these guys.
