Carefully read the Silfab warranty. As written, for defective solar modules, the Owner is responsible for the costs of removing, installing, packaging, and shipping the Defective Products. The warranty for the solar panels found in β€œLimited Product and Linear Performance Warranty, Limited Warranty on Silfab Solar Inc and Silfab Solar USA Photovoltaic Module Products” contains the clause below. 5. f) β€œLimited Warranties do not cover transportation costs for return of modules, or for reshipment of any repaired or replaced module, or cost associated with installation, removal or reinstallation of modules. Defective Products will be packaged and shipped to Silfab Solar by the Owner in accordance with the written instructions of Silfab Solar.β€œ I spoke to a Silfab representative who stated that the clause was intended to protect Silfab Solar from catastrophic claims. He stated that I could not be given a modified warranty with 5. f) removed. I cancelled my installation contract to install Silfab Solar panels.

Have had high density Silfab panels for 4 years now. Excellent energy production, and no noticeable drop off over that time. Yes I'd buy again, the results speak for themselves.

I went in for an interview recently with them and they gave us a walk through of the work I would be doing for my potential shift, only to be informed by my interviewer that I failed the interview cuz of a test that I wasn't informed of any test and following through with their employees instructions!!! It's no wonder this company has a high turnover rate.

I interviewed for Sr. leadership role at this company. First interview with hiring manager CFO. Week later with CEO and another Sr. leader. After second interview they called to ask how much vacation I want, what money I want, tell me about benefits etc.... and they asked for references. I told them - I want to see an offer first! However, HR person was SO pushy! They ensured me that they were serious. So, not wanting to lose this opportunity I gave in to pressure. My references ware stellar as I'm one of the best in GTA in my field in this industry. For three weeks straight after HR kept telling me - by end of week... by end of week... by end of week.... dragging me on for almost a month! They have NO respect towards people and no consideration. This was very unhelpful and unprofessional experience - I've never had such bad experience in all of my career. Keep in mind that I was interviewing for Director level position - I can only imagine how they would treat blue collar workers. Treatment of people is a huge deal breaker for me - no matter the level - and this is trashy, and sneaky approach has been a huge red flag for me. I can now see negative reviews for this company being fully justified. If I did get a job I would have tried to fix this from within. I don't see many companies having on their Google pages negative feedback on hiring process. Usually reviews pertains to products or services. Anyone looking for work - this should be a huge red flag for you coming a mile away! Note to anyone planning to work here - do not give out any references, do not put yourself in compromising position, do no put yourself down, do not settle on promises, do not negotiate, ask for MORE! Get a signed copy of a contract in your hands - and make sure it's the best you can hope for - don't settle at this place - it's not worth it. This place does not deserve benefit of a doubt from anyone considering their track record. I'd be surprised if they don't get unionised fairly quickly.

It is not so bad to work here. I worked here at night shift for one month as an operator. It was my first operator job in my 20-year career. I was a manufacture engineer before moved to Canada, I understand well how these manufacturing companies run their businesses. Their way is not the best, but is reasonable. The line leaders and supervisor, like David ,are respectful and would like to help you though they keep driving for higher output. And this company is multicultural, Filipinos and Indian are the majorities, but there are still some other people from Korea, Pakistan, China, Lebanon and South America ,and black people I don't know where they are from. From operation perspective, this company can be improved on the areas below: 1. Bad 5S: garbage, broken parts or scrapped equipment piled everywhere. 2. Bad layout, not follow VSM, the shop floor should have enough space to make it better after optimization; 3. Low OEE for front end due to bad condition of Tooling ,fixtures or machines, too much machine broke down time; 4. Weak technical team to support the automation lines. the fixtures can be designed better and machines can be maintained better. 5. Low FPY , Need strong quality team to analyze the defects, drive for root cause and corrective actions. The product and process are quite simple, not difficult to do this. 6. Safety sense need to enhance though some measures are in place, for example, I was a temporary new employee, but I was allowed to operate any machines after brief instruction, actually it is very dangerous on automation line. 7. High operator attrition rate, estimated >20% new employees on line, it is unhealthy, need to find the reasons. In short, I had a memorable working experience there, it is not the best but reasonable.

This is the company reminds me of working in a steel factory back in India. If you read this review, let me give you 3 reasons why you should NEVER work for Silfab Solar and why I quit working. First, inside of the facility, it's quite loud because there are machines use pressurized air and it gives you much stress. Imagine working 8 hours with noise. Earplugs are requird but you need to purchase them with your own money. Second, average temperature inside of the facility is around 30 - 33Β°C depends on the location. If you are unlucky, you will end up working close to 33 even in winter. Since it's very hot inside you will be wearing t-shirts daily and you will easily get hurt by sharp edges of machines and wood pallets anywhere in the facility. Third, supervisors will yell at you and point at you infront of your coworkers anytime you make a mistake or if you can't make the daily quota. All they say is faster faster faster like an automated robot. They will treat you as their servant and of course there is no respect and appreciation for what you have done. It's your choice working in this company but if you are my friend or family, I would like to suggest you find other place to work.
