food is not that much Tatsey, other restaurants are much better in Ottawa

β β β β β In the last 2 months theyβve screwed up every order Iβve placed. Even going to the place itself and telling them, still messed up. There was a time they were good but not anymore. I donβt know what happened but they donβt serve things like they use too. Dry salads, no gravy on poutine, messed up sizes. The list goes on. Iβm going to a different place after tonightβs order. I ordered 2 salads, 1 with only tomatoes. 1 large chicken poutine, and 1 chicken sandwich with small fries and a side of gravy.
What I got: 2 salads with no tomatoes, small regular poutine with no gravy, and a small chicken sandwich with no fries or gravy.
After this I told the mistake and they just gave me a thrown together βcorrectionβ just to get me out. With the small fries just tossed and mashed into the box with gravy poured on it, not put on the side. The poutine? Still not done properly, threw the chicken on top with little to no gravy underneath.

β β β β β Two star because they failed at the one thing a shawarma place has to get right, and that is their chicken shawarma. It's very dry and it's tasteless. I made the same mistake of ordering from there again because it's the only non-junk option in the plaza.
Today it tasted like something and it wasn't chicken, which makes me think it was stale. The beef was pretty good though.

β β β β β I didn't have the pleasure to experience the dine-in aspect of the restaurant, however, the take out process was smooth and quick in comparison to other shawarma spots.
Offering a wide selection of items and toppings, I was surprised to find such a lovely location which was situated in a town of less then 10000 people.
The beef and chicken shawarma were excellent, but the star of the show has to be the garlic potatoes.

β β β β β I haven't tried their chicken or beef, but I had a serving of small potatoes with garlic for lunch, and my goodness, best garlic sauce I've had in Ottawa! It is creamy, potent enough, and delicious! The potatoes were excellent as well - flavourful seasoning and good consistency.
I will be returning to try the shawarma :)

β β β β β This is hands down the best place for Shawarma in Ottawa. The staff is amazing and very friendly, they will go above and beyond to make sure youβre happy and comfortable. We have a member of my family who is allergic to chicken, when they were made aware of this they handled everything first and the chicken last so there wasnβt any chance of cross contamination. Very courteous. The food was packaged amazingly, it stayed hot for the 15 min drive home.
For the price of a family platter you get so much food, weβll be having left overs for days. Food was delicious. If you want to taste amazing shawarma or need to feed guests while on a budget this is the place to go. Canβt wait to have it again next time we get take out. Thank you so much Shawarma Byte!
