Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge is the newest facility in partnership with the City of Calgary located in the northwest quadrant of Calgary.

About Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge

YMCA Calgary works with hundreds of organizations in and around the city to ensure our program participants have the best YMCA experience possible. Whether the partner be a government organization, another non-profit agency or a school board, each organization benefits by learning from and working off the other’s expertise, point-of-view and experience.

Shared resources allow partners to keep costs of running programs down—meaning there are more funds available to put towards important areas, like increasing program participant numbers or purchasing necessary supplies.

I started my membership last October mainly for the swimming pool. It was not bad since they left several lanes for the public swimming. The classes they have, group power, FIIT, full body strength all good. However, when the date hits February this year after the ban started to lift, things went downhill. They β€œreserved” about 4 lanes for rental and 3 lanes for their swimming classes during peak hours from Monday to Friday. I work full time and can only come to swim from 4pm to 7pm sadly. They only leave public lane swimming for 1-2 lanes (imagine the chaos when you have 4 people swimming in one lane at the same time). I assume they got more $$$ from those rental and swimming lessons (I checked their website for per class). And when I came during the weekend, all the families came and took over some of the lanes. I guess I’m taking my business somewhere else since they are not just satisfied with the money they got from members (about $80 per person per month).

A superb facility, the weight floor staff is excellent. Tons of equipment. Equipped with pool, courts, gym, a theatre for conferences/shows, library, etc.. Has a Jugo juice inside. The grounds are decently kept, and the skate park is clean and tidy. The people are friendly and well trained. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

Beautiful facility and it basically ends right there. Staff here could definitely use some training in politeness, was checking in with a friend and there was supposedly 3 registers open, yet only one working, who barely greeted my friend and when I approached the second desk, the girl told me she was "in the middle of doing something". Okay. The pool area isn't the greatest compared to other facilities in the city and the water is FREEZING. My son and friends daughter were shivering from how cold they were in the shallow pool. When we were done our swim, we decided to towel off the little ones and snap a quick picture of them, with our cameras facing a wall and nothing behind them, one of the staff members came SCREAMING at us saying no photos were allowed. As we both live near the facility, we decided to scope it out and see if it's worth signing up for a membership but as we are both mothers, the serious lack of children activities is disappointing. The library is one of the saddest I'd ever seen. Also, $17 for drop-in. Save your money and go somewhere else.

It’s excellent facility for family exercise and playing together. We were member of Y for many years and switch to another Gym for little while and observe the difference. After Covid restrictions removed my family enjoying this facility and I will recommend everyone to join Y and complete their health and wellness goals. Feeling blessed to be part of Y !

great rink. excellent facility. but seriously 2 shower heads per dressing room? and one is the absolute cheapest shower head money can buy. talk about forgetting about some pretty essential details. dressing room has three bathrooms each, six hooks for towels, huge showers and 2 shower heads. seems trivial - but who cares about how fancy the rink/facility looks when its functionality is an afterthought.

The best YMCA facility in Alberta which is an Architectural Master piece to behold. Beautiful, neat, cozy and spacious.A great place for relaxation, sports and leisure. Swimming pool, indoor soccer, basketball court, zomba room, gymnasium, ice hockey and so many other games. There is also a library and Jugo juice store for snacks, drinks and food etc.
