Lowest returns I have had on any recent investment. Their solution? More low return investments... Physical branch banking is dead, all anyone has in this place is "financial planner/advisor" credentials which is low barrier of entry. If you were some investment guru, would you really work here?

Do not finance your car or any other loans with scotiabank. They can't help you in the bank locations nor on the phone, actually they never pick up the phone, you will be on hold for hours. My first time dealing with scotiabank and this will be the last. I will never take loan or mortgage from these guys no customer service what so ever. ?

I had called Scotiabanks 1-800 number and explained an issue I had and they set me up with a phone appointment with Angie. The day of I received no call and when I emailed enquiring why she missed my call and that it’s inconsiderate to waste people’s time she replied with β€œI had to step out of my office and this is not this branch’s issue”. When I told her that a simple email letting me know would suffice she stopped responding to my emails.

Helpless teller! I have an issue with an unknown transaction! The fraud department told me to go to the branch. I went to the branch and the teller told me to call the company instead of looking into the note that fraud department left. I will close my account once everything gets resolved

Absolutely poor customer service!! Still waiting for the branch manager to return my phone call from over a week ago. Also no return call from the mutual funds advisor. Only a typical email response.

Was a new customer trying to open a chequing account. I did everything online and it said to pick up the card at this location to activate it. The teller provided me a card, set up the pin, I gave her all my documents. I get home and try to log in and get an error telling me to "try again". I wait a day just in case something needed to activate. I still couldn't log in. I wait 20 mins on hold to the bank's help line and it turns out someone at this branch completely screwed up the activation of the card and it wasn't linked to the account I had set up. After 40 minutes of troubleshooting I still can't log in and am told to go to the branch again. Yeah nope. Never had issues with TD, Manulife or Weathsimple and I bank 100% online with the latter two. Huge waste of time.

Not the best first impression. Came to this branch to inquire about opening an account to have some money transferred. The person at the counter seemed new. She had 2 people behind her (to coach/help her?), but they did not say a word. The girl seemed a bit lost and just gave me all the information she could/knew without actually answering my questions or offering to set up a meeting with an executive to discuss options/types of accounts. I noticed she would not be able to help me so I thanked her and left. Maybe they could train inexperienced agents to have potential new customers make an appointment with an executive. I noticed this after visiting other banks around the area.

I have had an account here for over 5 years and have never encountered an insurmountable problem. With the changes in banking and with the prevalence of COVID life has been more difficult and so my banking has been a little more difficult. I am a senior which has produced a few problems but the staff have always been cooperative and have searched for ways to help me with my special circumstances. Thank you.Tom Bailey
