This branch is quite busy and has very nice people. The office's are all occupied. There were many retirees, in the last year and this explains why the large staff change. Thanks for the update .....

BMO is very INCONVENIENT yet still NOT SAFE in these Covid times because they keep air enclosed. Studies of enclosed spaces, restrooms, etc. showed that having windows open by ONLY 2" greatly reduced measurable virus in aerosol form. (Aerosols float around in the air, unlike droplets.) Meanwhile, at BMO, they have a security guard at the door only letting 4 people in at one time, but all the doors and windows sealed shut! Re: BMO's pasted-in response. Yeah, they've done all these inconvenient things but not the most simple, common-sense thing anyone can do: leave doors open, increase fresh air turnover.

I don't think anyone works at this branch. I tried calling for 2 days always went to a voice mail system from the 1800's. Left messages, no one returned my call. Go across the street to the TD. I know that are are real live people there that will actually talk to you. Good thing the manager does not work for me or he/she would be filing for EI.

I had a wrong money transfer, l tried every step of the way, spend more than an hour on my online banking, and was pushed back and forward on the system with no result. The next morning I had visited the branch and Staff Preet assisted me and resolved the issue eventually. She was incredibly friendly, kind, patient, professional, and understanding. I learned a lot too... Special thanks to Preet and all other team members who are working hard to help the customers during COVID. I appreciate their customer service in such a busy location. BMO service is still the King, thank you, guys!

The positives: the staff are lovely, and this branch has a real community feel. For example, at Christmas there's a bake sale to raise money for charity. And now during the pandemic this bank feels as safe as possible. The big negative: The financial products are services I'd feel ashamed to sell. A two-year fund just matured a few days ago. Given the market during this time, and what I'd call an exorbitant handling/service charge, I'd still expect this fund to earn over 5%--not the 1.5% it did. That amount over two years falls short of the inflation rate. It wasn't a big investment, and therefore, not a big loss. Still, I'm slowly divesting from this bank and putting my money where it will keep pace with inflation or even grow.

I am waiting the previous customer to finish their business, the place is clean and comfortable. When in my turn, I did not ready yet, and no one is behind me. The banker is really polite to ask me what kind of service I need. During the deal, it is quick and easy done, professional banker gives you better feeling and saving time. I am not rushing, somehow they have done my deal really quick.

The (lack of) customer service at this branch has me thinking about changing banks. I'm used to the great service provided at the Vancouver locations (especially the Burrard branch) so I have been absolutely surprised & disappointed at how things work in White Rock. Every time I go to the bank to ask something, the person at the counter doesn't seem to have a clue what I'm talking about. I usually don't mind because I assume that the person might be new and needs to seek instructions from a superior/more senior member of the staff. However, last week I had a rather unpleasant experience when I was inquiring about upgrading my credit card and the woman I was talking to at the counter recognized that she could help me and do the paperwork for me, but it would be a lot of trouble and would take her too long. She said it would be better to call the credit card company directly (because she was too busy to care?!). There was no other person behind me waiting so I think she just chose not help me. If my bank is not interested in my business and makes me waste my time, I don't see why I should keep an account there. I have even recommended BMO to friends due to the good experience I have had over the years with the bank, but in White Rock it's a completely different story.

The only reason I am providing 1 star is because the assistant manager transferred my file to a competent and responsive banker. Do not bank with Senior Banker, Amandeep S. at this branch. He will not respond to phone calls or emails unless you follow-up a lot. When you do finally reach him, he will get mad at you saying he is very busy, yell at you to say you have a bad attitude and hang up on you. I have given him the opportunity to call or email back to provide an apology for his unprofessional behaviour. He did not respond. If you have an appointment booked with him. Stay away. My own application was delayed by 2 weeks, and was informed soon after the transfer of my application that it had a lot of missing documents/information. Amandeep informed me he will contact me once the application is approved or not approved. He never did when it was not approved the first time, and he got mad after I persisted with my follow-ups trying to ensure the necessary documents were submitted. He never submitted the necessary documents or provided necessary communication with the underwriter.
