★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If I could give Scotiabank 0 stars I would. I have had nothing but problems with them. They're holds are ridiculous and the managers are useless. Don't get an account here, they hold cheques through the teller and they're hours suck. Worst banking experience I've ever had. Go literally anywhere else.

I made my banking business and was assisted by Officer ID: 586 - forgot to take his name. He made a fantastic job, made me feel an appreciated customer and solved promptly what was asked for. A very positive experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to this branch today at 9:45am; May 31, 2021 to use the bank machine. It was absolutely disgusting in the vestibule. The bank was open so no one had bothered to go in there to clean it up from the weekend. Dirty masks etc. When I walked out I told the security guard that he needs to go in to the bank and speak to someone about how disgusting it was. There is absolutely no excuse for that kind of filth. I bank with Tangerine and can only use Bank of Nova Scotia bank machines. It was appalling and someone should be fired for that.

Such an unnecessary process to apply for a credit card. When I made an appointment I was told I just need my most recent pay stubs, I was then asked to provide 3 more of my paystubs to verify my employment, and then went even further and asked for a letter from my employer. I have never been asked to do this at other institutions. To make everything worse my advisor didn’t even know how to enter in my ID to apply for the credit card, I promptly cancelled my application, I will go to another bank that knows how to do their job correctly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve banked with Scotia for 10 years and been treated like absolute garbage every step of the way. No more. They clearly don’t care about retaining customers either. Today I visited a branch to close my account for good and nobody batted an eyelid. I even wondered out loud that maybe someone might ask me why I was leaving and was met with a cold, businesslike manner and sarcasm from the teller. Good riddance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the utmost displeasure of being witness to the worst customer service I have ever seen from a bank manager and bank practices in my 53 years. The manager of this bank, Jackie, is an extremely rude, unhelpful, vexatious woman who shows absolutely no empathy, care, attention or facilitation skills whatsoever. I attended a meeting with the bank manager with my friend who was requesting a wire transfer for a personal purchase. This bank manager took a 'personal' vengeance into her own power and authority using her position to disable and frustrate an extremely important real estate transaction. The lack of unprofessionalism shown by her deserves less than a one star, the reputation of this branch is damaged by her presence . Hard to believe someone like her is at the helm of the bank.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Open early at 9:30 am!! The vintage bank building is undergoing some much needed renovations right now (Feb. 2022), but is still open. Mask mandent in place with a security guard at the doo. Always friendly and helpful staff there at Scotiabank.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I usually do all my bank related tasks online, unless absolutely necessary. One of those occasions is my yearly visit for getting bulk change (yep we still live in the world where laundry is coin operated); I'm not too sure but I think it was actually the same person who helped me out this time as well, five stars for him (can't speak for everyone given the grim reviews). Very patiently he verified my card and rendered the amount. I get that it's their job, but still...I feel I need to spell it out given it's my second time doing the same boring business and yet, receiving great customer service
