I would give less if I could. This bank and location is staffed by arrogant disorganized people. If your going to bank with Scotia, do not have this location as your home branch.

Be careful if you are new immigrant. They will trick you to open multiple savings accounts unnecessarily and sell different types of insurance to steal your money.

Terrible customer service. Employees have limited knowledge about the processes, they gave me run around to deposit a simple cheque. I had an auto loan with Scotiabank, I received a final settlement cheque as my car was written off. The insurance company cut a cheque in the name is me and Scotiabank. When I went to deposit the cheque, the financial rep. told me to take to the dealer. Really??? The she went to the some cabin and came back saying "we can deposit this for you, if you open an account with us. I went to the Parklawn branch after two days and deposited the cheque.

Went to use the atm on April 28, 2020 at approx. 8pm and found 2 homeless people sleeping on the floor in front of the two atm's. They were sleeping 2 meters apart according to the rules of social distancing. As a young woman, I did not go inside as I feared something bad might happen. Left without depositing my cheque. Extra measures should be taken to avoid things like this. Just thought someone should know what is going on at the bank after business hours. You can always check your cameras to see that this actually did happen on this day. This leaves a bad impression on your establishment.

There is a reason for all the 1 stars. They have a rotating door for the General Manager position. Some of the tellers are good... others not so good. I bank here only because it is near my home. They get 2 stars for Elenor and some of the tellers.

Insane experience. Tried to call to set up a meeting to open up two business accounts. Was given an appointment and time at the branch. Then the manager Michael McKiel called and was solely focused on doing everything to get out of doing the work. He tried getting me to go to another branch. I said I wanted to bank there because it was close to a business building I own in the area. He literally hummed made grunting type sounds. Then was complaining that he had to do a lot of work ahead of opening an account. He was asking me if I had any references to prior banks. I told him it was new corporations and not complex. He asked if I had a personal account and said yes and told him who it was with. He said he would need to pull a credit report and do a lot of other things before opening it. He was putting so much effort into finding ways to discourage me from coming and said he didnt have a business banking person at his branch. I asked him why he was so fixed on trying to discourage me from doing banking there when it is where I wanted to open the bank account. He tried to get off the call and was being rude. I asked him who his supervisor was and he gave me the presidents phone number and proceeded to abruptly hang up on me while I was talking. In 35 years of owning and operating businesses, I have never seen anything like this. This is the first time I have ever posted a complaint on a review. Even though it is likely a waste of time, I can not begin to expressed how shocked I am. As a shareholder, it is appalling to see this...so much for doing business. He should not be operating a hotdog stand let alone a bank. The negative reviews in this post regarding staff are likely a reflection on the management of this branch. Don't believe me...see for yourself. I cant possibly be the only one experiencing this. It is impressively bad and would be hard to replicate elsewhere. I guess we need bad examples, to appreciate what good banking looks like. I am taking my business elsewhere.

Very sad to say, that i went into the branch with a small bag full of coins today to deposit into my Scotia bank account saved up from my kids and i . The customer service teller would not accept my money. Told me it had to be wrapped and to come back tomorrow. Isn't that the job of a customer service rep to accept money. I understand if i had 1000"s of dollars in coins, but a small bag that i was willing to count in front of the customer rep. not busy at all in branch, but just refused. Scotia bank richer than you think. yeah right.
