My mother, Catharine Mackie was recently admitted to this hospital. During the week she was a patient she was treated with kindness and consideration by every single staff member: paramedics, nurses, admin staff and doctors. As a family we are ever grateful to this hospital for their compassionate professionalism.

Today I experienced a classic example of what Empathy in Customer Service means. A receptionist called Sophia at the Scarborough General hospital attended to me and she was a gem. The level of empathy she demonstrated was palpable. I simply want to say thank you for understanding. A quality so uncommon in our world. Wow!

When I came to the Emergency the lady started Cursing This it The worst hospital v.v. For me this is the best of everything. My 2 daughter 2 son and 1 unborn child happen in this hospital Today my youngest daughter gets sick and I brought her to hospital The nurses made me cry and Touch deeply in my heart They Surprise my daughter a birthday song and gift. It small things but so big Means for me and my daughter. Thank you so much Scarborough general hospital in my heart and my life

I would give them a zero star if Google allows. Absolutely horrible service, and I totally agree with all the bad reviews about this unprofessional so called hospital!!!! I went to the supposedly emergency room yesterday, based on what my family doctor suggested as he suspected that I have Pneumonia, and so I needed urgent care due to the continuous fever that I have had for more than 10 days, and guess what: the staff were careless, and I had to wait there for 2 hours hoping to be seen by someone . But again no one cared and no one showed up. I asked the receptionist when I am going to be seen by the doctor/nurse. She said that she doesn't know and that it might take 2 or 3 or 4 more hours!!!!After hearing that, I left although I was in pain because I was too tired of waiting and waiting and sitting and turning in my chair and not knowing what to do. It seems that the incompetent staff there can get away with whatever they do ??????

I would give them more than five stars if I could. I went through emergency, testing, & then a surgery with them, & everyone is professional, good at their jobs, thoughtful, & nice. Just really nice people. I got high-quality care, & I was never made to feel like just a meat puppet, the way Drs can sometimes make you feel.

Waited hours to even see a doctor. Waited 6 hours just to be hocked up with IV. Even to ask for simple glass of water took that long. The triage nurses were extremely rude and does not care about patients. They are just being told to sit down and wait. The nurses do not care about patients. If I had a choice, I would never go to this hospital again. This hospital is the worst and you will never get the proper care. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. I am so angry with this hospital and hope there will be more better changes in the future. The most changes I would like to see is these nurses and the respect they should be giving to patients

Had my first Colonoscopy Procedure performed today. Checked in at 7.00 am and was out at 9.30 am. I found the staff to be pleasant, helpful and understanding. I choose to be lightly sedated and this turned out to be the best option I believe. I was awake during the entire procedure. There was no pain and the process went very quickly. Best of all I was able to see what was going on and converse with the attending Physicians. A short pleasant stay but interacted with a number of people. I would like to say thanks to Cherry, Mary and Bella from the Recovery Room area. Mitchell, Dr. Tran and Dr. Wang who oversaw the procedure.

I’ve recently went to the emergency room at SHN-General. I’m about 10 weeks pregnant and had some bleeding and lower back pain a few days prior. I tried going to a different hospital, but their wait time was at least 7 hours. It was a smaller hospital and the waiting room didn’t have any separation, people were pulling their masks off, and since I recovered from Covid a few weeks prior, was in pain and had our toddler with us, we decided it was best for us to leave after 4 hours of waiting. I spoke to my family doctor and he advised me if any of the symptoms persistent to go to the hospital. So, we ended up going to Scarborough and the triage nurse decided it was the best time to lecture on how I’m wasting the government’s money by coming to a different hospital for the same problem. I tried to explain my situation and why I left the other hospital early, but she just proceeded to tell me she thought it was wrong and I should’ve just waited in the other hospital. I understand she has her own opinions about situations, but I might have been going through the most traumatic experience of my life at that time and the last thing I needed is a lecture from someone judging me for not being able to wait for 7+ hours for assistance. I was so distraught, my abdominal pain got worse. The doctor and the rest of the nurses were perfectly fine afterwards and were all understanding of my situation once explained, but that registering nurse just made the whole thing so stressful in the beginning. I tried calling the hospital and talking to someone about the situation, they called me back, took down my information, told me someone will call me back and no one ever did. I have never left any reviews or called to complain about customer service before. But I just felt when people come to the emergency rooms for help the last thing they need is to be reprimanded. My husband is a nurse himself and he was so disgusted and disappointed by the triage nurse behaviour.
