About saVeg Cafe

ABOUT US

Opened by YouTuber “Cheap Lazy Vegan” and “Mama Lee”, we are a small family owned 100% vegan cafe located in the heart of Downtown Calgary - in the trendy Beltline district.

We are located inside Heavens Fitness, a fitness centre, but NO, you don’t have to workout to come eat here :)

We recognized a need for more healthy, plant-based meals that are fast, delicious and affordable. Combining the knowledge of traditional Korean cuisine and vegan cooking, saVeg Cafe was born.

Please see the main page for more information, menu tab for our food menu and follow us on our social media accounts (links below)!

FYI: saVeg is pronounced like "savage" :)

Delicious vegan food that everyone can enjoy. Must-tries: Eggs Benedict and dumplings The staff are super-friendly and the place has a great independent cafe vibe, very cute and casual. Good coffee too!

The tofu eggs Benedict is not exactly like a real eggs Benedict but the flavor is definitely still there and it's filling! But the real winner is the Bulgogi wrap. I mean, WOW, it's so insanely delicious. I would love to visit this place a third time if I visit Calgary again.

So good! I’ve ordered from saVeg twice now and both times were absolutely delicious. The Katsu Curry Udon is a must try - super flavourful and filling. Officially one of my favourite vegan spots in the city!

Yum! I’ve been a longtime fan of Rose’s blog and was so excited to visit. Awesome food and customer service. I wish I was in Calgary longer so I could try more items. I had the bulgogi burrito. It was flavourful and very filling. Portion size was great! 10/10 will return.

Really good and quick lunch. The dumplings were the best we have ever had.

Loved this cute little cafe! Highly recommend the No Eggs Benedict with side of hash browns! This cafe also has amazing vegan-inspired Korean food and recommend the Bulgogi Burrito, Korean Lentil Pancakes & Japchae.

Wow! What an experience. One of the challenges of being vegan is finding authentic offerings from other countries. Strangely, a lot of the original offerings aren't even vegan. It's been a few years since I've been in Korea, but I feel like I would have been hard pressed to find the dishes that I enjoyed at saVeg Cafe as a vegan offering even in Seoul. Highly recommended.

Ordered the Bulgogi Burrito, Vegan Dumplings, and Japchae. The vegan dumplings were tasty, cooked thoroughly and great for the price. The Bulgogi Burrito was a little bit pricey, but still large in size and had a good combination of flavours. Could use more sauce but was still tasty. The japchae definitely could have used some sauce as well, since it lacked in flavour. Essentially just tasted like glass noodles with nothing else. It also was a small portion for the price you pay, so could have benefited from more food too.
