About Save-On-Foods
At Save-On-Foods, going the extra mile is nothing new. Actually, we’ve gone above and beyond in all areas of our business since we started, way back in 1915. Originally, we were called Overwaitea Food Group because of the founder’s practice of selling 18 ounces of tea for the price of 16, and the name “overweight tea” stuck. Fast forward over 100 years and that name has changed, but we’re still known for delivering extra value to our customers. Today our company is best known for its most prominent banner—Save-On-Foods—but also includes PriceSmart Foods, Urban Fare and Bulkley Valley Wholesale.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were looking for a place to get flowers for a funeral and decide to check out Save-on-Foods flower department. The ladies working, Susan and Dawn, were very accommodating and even went into the back to get the freshest flowers for the three arrangements we wanted. They had the arrangements ready within minutes and I was taken back by how beautiful they were. Very nice work and thank you very much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Meat is good, way better than Walmart meat but the prices are just stupid... 5 plus dollars for a loaf of raisin bread? Also a few months back I was looking in the make up aisle when the security guard pulled up a chair sat down and watched me until I walked away where he preceded to follow and stand beside me while i was picking out chicken burgers (I just about asked him if he'd like to carry the make up for me) he then followed me to the till where I had trouble scanning the eyeliner which he jumped right in to help me with... I get that people steal but there has to be a more tactful way of going about it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thank you. North end save on is the only place I went today that has safe handicapped stalls. It was clear pavement at your store. I stopped at 3 other stores today in red deer and the other handicapped spaces had built up ice and slush. Very hard to navigate wheelchair over ice and snow. Thank you for keeping these spaces clean and safe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They don't care about customer safety in the least, I walked in today and 90% of the customers were not wearing masks. When approaching security about masking they simply said "head office will not let us enforce masking policy".... Lost a very loyal customer today....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I use to live nearby and get my groceries here and still do occasionally when I'm running errands in the nearby vicinity because the selection and quality of produce and other products is top notch, the store is kept clean, the layout is not bad and best of all, I've ALWAYS have had great customer service EVERY SINGLE TIME I've ever been there. The staff are caring, compassionate, friendly, non judgemental (of disabilities and various spectrums of people), incredibly knowledgeable of the products they carry, professional but also friendly and welcoming and most helpful. I give them 5 stars and recommend others shop there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Women directing to the cashiers was very rude. Gave small attitude when correcting us and telling us she directs us to the cashiers. She seen I had a few items but new to town didn't see a self check out. She didn't direct us to it until another customer told me there was self check out.
Prices are fair just like any other grocery store.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Huge shout out to Save On Foods. I was in just last Thursday and have never had a better grocery shopping experience! Wayne, Branden and Avery were amazing.
I found a guy named Wayne down one of the aisles and he helped me find what I was looking for had an amazing attitude and knew exactly where it was didn’t tell us an approximate location took us right there and even jokingly stopped to direct traffic so me and my kids could get out of the aisle to follow him. We got to the tills they were busy I had Avery ring me up and Branden was on the next till over. Both young adults held a genuine conversation with each customer including my two rowdy boys. Thanks so much to you 3!
