Sault Area Hospital

My nurse practitioner requested an upper G.I with diagnostics imaging. They got the request and scheduled me for an appointment. I made work scheduling changes so I could make the appointment. As I'm literally pulling into the parking lot (15 mins before appointment) I get a call from SAH. They inform me they're cancelling the appointment because it wasn't scheduled with a specialist. I understand that there is procedures to follow. But they should have caught that before they scheduled the appointment not 15 mins before. Very poor office administration.

On October our 4 year old granddaughter had her tonsils and adenoids removed. Having her drive the little car into surgery is one of the best ideas the hospital has come up with...No stress and no tears.

I honestly haven't been treated better by any other Healthcare than this one. The staff was so kind, the intake nurse was so incredibly nice, supportive, and caring, the registration nurse was personable, and the doctor was very caring as well. Amazing wait time and care. Great hospital.

You'd get better treatment from an actual lemon. Take two tylenol and go home diagnosis is pretty common. The hospital is awful. Lot of immature little nurses who treat it like highschool. Avoid Sault Area Hospital and go to a real one if you can.

I'd much rather take my chances with death... in fact you'd definitely have a better chance of survival by not going to any hospital rather than going here for anything. Attending the Sault Area Hospital only greatly increases your chances of serious infections and/or death.

We have had multiple instances of setting up a meeting only to be left waiting and waiting. Every time I have scheduled an online consultation it has been at best an hour before the hospital worker picks up, and at worst they simply never do.

Awful place! Not only is the staff extremely rude and slow but they give u sass and Sarcasm it is unbelievable how bad these nurses and drs are every single time I have came here they always call the person that came in after me first not only in the ER but any dr in this hospital if u want to be cared for properly take the trip to the st joes wait time is less then a hour and the best drs it’s so sad that a small hospital can be so much better then ours

I completely do not understand how this hospital functions. There has never been anything terrible than attending the SAH emergency department. My family attended the E.D multiple times. We're recent immigrants and sometimes we thought maybe it's because we don't have good health insurances or not having a family doctor that would caused us to never get any treatment in the E.D. The E.D is our only clinic because no fam doctor. However, the wait here is long and arduous and what makes matter even worst is that nurses and doctors are thoughtless and inconsiderate. The nurse I last met was so arrogant and it seemed like she was saying my problems were lies. I couldn't fathom how such people could work in the hospital. They dont show any care at all. They're just bunch of zombies that don't even have insight into empathy. Also, there can't just be one doctor in the ED. Given all these reasons, my family is deciding on moving out of Soo by August. We can't afford the risk staying because something serious could happen. Because this ED won't even bandage an injury. Oh, come on man, it was PATHETIC!!!!? Words to the wises, if you have serious health problems, the best thing you should do for your once-in-a-lifetime life you have right now, is to change the city. This is beneficial and completely worth a try if you have money because it might gain you some years. So, in a nutshell. Stop complaining about this hospital again because they sucks and will never help you. From that day when I spent 12 hrs waiting in the E.D and the my son waiting 9 hrs the following day and eventually receiving no treatment, I decided never to visit the hospital again. Two weeks ago, I made a huge shopping of first aid kits and learned the important steps to take during an emergency because I WILL NEVER VISIT THE HOSPITAL IN SAULT STE. MARIE. This is very true and I'm not sad about it because i don't have a choice and can't just throw in the towels. I hope your quality improve one day SAH so that vulnerable Saultites might get helped. D
