Sapporo Japanese&Thai Restaurant

First off I have to say this. My family have not been in a sushi restaurant for last 2 covid years. So coming last night with my family of. 7 sushi eaters was a big deal! This restaurant always had best tasting sushi in town and the best service hands down. But last night was not the case. It was so disappointing because we invited 2 other family members that are not sushi eaters who were not at all impressed with the service. It looked like there was enough employees but I think the problem was that there was a huge waiting line with UBER drivers picking up takeout orders which delayed our items coming out of the kitchen. Sorry, i think the customers in the restaurant should not be kept waiting for their items. They should be first priority! We waited and waited and 2 items came to the table for 7 people. Then 15 mins go by and another 2 items. Honestly, we didn't even get all our items by the end of the night because it took way too long to come out of the kitchen, so we cancelled our previously submitted items.We noticed that even the sushi started to all come at once as soon as the UBER line disappeared.It seemed UBER became the new priority service system. They should have had a hostess or someone speaking English ensuring our items had arrived. But no one came to check. We tried numerous times asking but the server didn't understand.I was quite upset. BUT whatever food that was finally delivered after 3 hrs was absolutely delicious and fresh!! That is why we came here! Hopefully, the manager will read this and will make things better because I would love to come back but not if this happens again. **I think they need to shut down food delivery apps on a night that is busy if they can't man it properly so that they can keep up with inside restaurant customers who are paying $36 for an AYCE and are not getting items to their table.**

Been here a few times and the sushi is always great. As long as the price isn't an issue, I'd recommend going here.

Very tasty but the AC was blasting on top on us... kinda made us lose our appetite.

Great food. I regularly get takeout from this place and it is usually great. New Years Eve 2021 was absolutely bonkers. I booked early morning for an evening pickup. When I arrived, there were at least 20 people waiting in the restaurant which became the new priority service system. After an hour and a half wait inside, I received my order. This was the norm that night for other patrons as well. Thankfully I had no plans. Sapporo did give me a couple free basic sushi items for the wait but my order was already large to truly enjoy them. I think they need to shut down food delivery apps on a night like New Years Eve so that they can keep up. I respect their hustle but I’m sure it wasn’t nice for their employees either to be stressed all night.

Amazing sushi always. Expertly wrapped with great quality fish and rice. We got the all you can eat.

Love the food and it's quality. Have been going to this restaurant for few years and it's my favourite sushi place in Downtown Hamilton. Convenient as well. Few suggestions: Please update your website menu prices to math the once you are charging inside. FYI there is no debit That's why four stars instead of five. Planning on visiting them again this week ?

Fast and friendly service. It was not too busy for a Sunday. I was not impressed by the furniture, layout of the place. It is a bit dark too but nothing that interferes with seeing your food. We ordered all you can eat. Miso soup was really good but I was hoping for more than 2 small pieces of seaweed. The deep fried cheese wontons were good as some of the beef plates but not the chicken ones. The breaded deep fried shrimps were not great and some of the deep fried food had a very strong oil taste. The shrimps for example, did not taste like shrimps. The different sushi we ordered were good. The chicken skewer was deep fried pieces of chicken w sauce. Quite dissapointing as I was looking forward to that chicken skewer. Maybe I did not read the description of the plate and it does say that it is deep fried chicken! Our food with tip was $150 for 3. Quality wise, not worth but I guess for a all -you- -can- eat after the pandemic, it is the new norm.

Love the food. Good price point for quality. Good portion sizes so you're able to try a variety of things (if you're doing all you can eat). Servers were friendly and fast. The establishment was clean and the sitting areas were divided up. Food came out at a good pace, we however went when it wasn't too busy. Would definitely recommend, and will be coming back.
