Our beautiful Motel features 8 premium rooms, 2 cabins and wifi throughout our location. With an exquisite Diner located close by, we have a great room and meal plan for everyone! The Diner features home cooked meals, excellent service and reasonable prices. It is located on the corner of Highway 623 and 11, half way between Thunder Bay, Ontario and International Falls, MN. The motel rooms overlook beautiful Niobe Lake, with boats and kayaks available to long term guests or as a rented package. The area features the best of fishing and hunting found in the heart of lake country!

Your hosts are Mike and Linda Fogg. Mike is an avid outdoorsman, specializing in guided fishing and hunting trips. Linda is an accompished artist, and the diner and hotel rooms are decorated with her talented artwork. Together they built their dream and hope to share the beauty of their creation with their guests.We hope to see you soon and that you give Sapawe your consideration while you travel or work in the area!

Best Motel in Canada

V	Victor Oliveira on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting place. Considering there was nothing available in atikokan, this was a godsend. It was really busy spot- hydro people, enbrigde guys, tourists, the place was full when I arrived. Luckily I booked a room a week ago. It was clean. People were very friendly. Good selection of TV channels- you will need these since there is nothing to do a night. Lots of snacks in restaurant. Attendant will make you dinner orlunch or breakfast. The only problem is the bed is not top quality. After 1 night I was sore ( I have a badback), after 3 nights I would be crippled. But it gets a high rating because there is no competition.

K	Kirsty Connolly on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had booked this property & had to cancel 3 days prior to arrival which was within the cancellation period. I emailed, with no response to my email. CALL #1: I called to cancel, the person was distracted & short with me on the phone. CALL #2: I was then was charged for the stay, I called to advise that this needed to be refunded, the owner said she would get to it later in the day which was fine. CALL #3: Another day passed, called to follow-up on the refund & the owner was flippant & said "ya I haven't done it yet" when I said it needed to be done, she raised her voice & said she would "maybe" get to is today. At that point, I did let her know that I would simply dispute the charge if she wasn't able to accommodate the request in a timely manner, a standard procedure of running a hotel. She did manage to issue the refund within 15mins of my 3rd call, however, was incredibly rude with simply saying "the refund is issued, do you have any other issues" I said no that was it & she hung up on me. I work in the travel industry & have spoken to countless hotels in the last 12 years for clients & personal travel & I have never experienced such disorganization & rudeness particularly from an owner. In addition, being charged after a cancellation & having to wait 3 days for a refund is unacceptable customer service.

Owner takes much pride in her units, and her attached diner. Guests must call ahead to make dining arrangements. Room was large with a covered porch, parking in front.

So happy we choose not to stay as the customer service and professionalism was severely lacking. I’m sure it is a fine place to stay if you are okay with disorganization and rude dismissal from the staff/owner.
