★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It wasn’t anything special unfortunately. The California rolls does not come with cucumber which isn’t great, the nigiri cuts are jagged, but most of the fish was fresh enough. We went on an afternoon - maybe their dinner is better. The torched aburi salmon was okay, the fish was a bit thin but there was a nice buttery sauce that was charred from the flame. The tempura does not come with any tentsuyu sauce which was disappointing and dry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice little authentic neighborhood sushi place. We love coming here when we don’t want to travel far for sushi. They have a nice selection of boxes and appetizers that set them apart from other Vancouver sushi places I’ve been to. Their black cod dinner set and their agedashi eggplant are super good. Also love their pressed sushi and chicken karaage. If you’re on the north shore and looking for sushi, I’d recommend giving them a try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been here countless times (usually takeout) and it is consistently delicious! I'm gluten sensitive and their gluten free menu is wonderful. I never feel like I'm missing out like when I go to other restaurants. For me, there is no other sushi restaurant, this is it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Apologies for the half eaten food pictures. We were too hungry and the food looked and tasted too good.
Hidden gem. Probably the only place in GVR I've had udon noodles that are cooked correctly. They are nice and chewy without any of the slimy texture you find at most places. Even at the last bite after half hour and completely cooled the udon was still perfectly chewy and not slimy.
Same goes for the soba. The soya dipping sauce was flavored very well. Not too many places get that right. Only soba I've had just as good were fresh made ones and those restaurants are hard to find.
Fried oysters a must try and very fresh. The agedashi tofu was cooked well and sauce was flavored well. I'm just not used to the starchy batter which gives it a chewy consistency but still very good.
Definitely a must try hidden gem. Oh and almost forgot. They observe covid protocols very well. Nicely spaced out

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great sashimi selection, good food, good staff, and great service. We had the nigiri and sashimi combos. Try the unagi without the sauce on top. Also definitely try the aburi ebi oshi - great way to finish the meal

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visiting from Toronto and this is one of the better places I’ve been to. I had the vip chirashi bowl. It was absolutely delicious and a very good portion size. The fish selection served was pretty darn fresh (although not the best I’ve had) and the pricing was fair. The only thing to keep in mind is that there is a big wait on weekends so go when it’s not busy or early.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve come here quite a few times and always enjoy my meal. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. I love their lunch menu and recommend the makunouchi bento. You won’t be disappointed and will be stuffed! Their dinner specials are also very tasty. This restaurant is fairly busy during peak lunch and dinner service so try to called ahead to see if you can make a reservation!
