I'm glad that they are able to keep what they were able to salvage and find a way to display it. Unfortunately, some of it isn't Sandon history or heritage and I feel that detracts from the experience. The signage on some artefacts such as the buses ruins any photos as they are bright yellow and the font isn't era correct. The staff at the gift shop and power station were great. Those at the main museum couldn't be bothered to even look up for more than 2 seconds from their recreational reading material to take our admission fee. All in, it was worth the stop and I hope to see them find success in preserving their past.

Neat spot to stop and explore. We didn't actually go into the museum, but explored the ghost town. If you have the time take a walk along some of the old roads which are no longer used and you will encounter a few buildings. The power plant was neat to do a quick walk through. The tour they tell you they offer is just opening the doors for you to walk through and take a look yourself. Kids thought it was neat to see the old buses and the old train.

My son and I visited Sandon in April. This time of year was too early. There was still snow on the ground. Also, I don't know if the Sandon museum will be open this year. I saw a posting in one of the windows posting their website which would inform travelers to whether they would be open. An interesting fact is they are holding electric street cars for future restoration.

Quite cool to see the powerhouse and the collection of old buses! They even have a collection of items you can purchase. Some very cool pieces of BC history.

I'm so glad we have it here finally- it's been on my bucket list! We planned our entire trip to B.C from Manitoba around visiting Sandon! Excellent museum and tour guides available to show you around and answer questions.

My son had so much fun on our trip to Sandon, I always love going as my family lived there for a little bit. A visit to the power house is a must, great piece of history and the tour is great full of so much information.

Absolutely fascinating old mining town. Silversmith Power & Light Corporation generating station is actively producing power and you are able to tour the generation station (quite loud, can buy ear plugs on site). The store is full of unique souvenirs. The staff are friendly and helpful and it's clear they enjoy helping other learn about this amazing town that once was a bustling silver/gold rush location
