★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are like any other thrift store, all supported with thoughtful and caring people who go above and beyond. They were closing up and 2 minutes to closing but allowed me to come in and purchase a chair for sitting at a desk. They were all wonderful and cheerful staff and still assisted me at 2 mins before closing time. I highly recommend them!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The 2 ladies that were working were a jovial team and a pleasure to deal with. Also, these girls were very knowledgeable and very forthcoming in regards to their orders, i.e., new mattress shipments, and other antique items, etc. I am happily and eagerly awaiting for these orders to arrive, accordingly. In the meantime, the store had me pleasantly surprised with various antique furniture and corresponding collectibles to view and to purchase for even lower prices than our other second hand stores that we have in town, (including Facebook). Because of all this, and their nice glass table display, I give Salvation Army a thumbs up with 5 stars! They also help other countries as well, which is a bonus because we get to purchase the hand made products from these far away places, knowing that the money is helping them too. Wtg, guys! I will gladly support my local Salvation Army whenever I can.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don’t typically leave google reviews but i find it important to report that I’ve had a horrible experience with the store staff. They are extremely rude, disrespectful, and discriminatory. Two of the workers especially seem like they are high school bullies in adult bodies, always eager for a power trip or to whisper behind your back. Definitely not the “Christian morals” that they are discussing in replies to their negative reviews. I have never experienced such disrespect from retail staff anywhere else in Powell River. It’s a real shame because i do enjoy going to the thrift stores here in town and have always supported the salvation army as a charity. Very disappointed and concerned that these are the values they are displaying. do better!
