โ โ โ โ โ Between the products well past their best before dates, the crowded aisles, and slow service at the tills, this is not a very pleasant grocery shopping experience. This is pretty normal for Vancouver, I guess, but itโs terrible compared to shopping in most other places.

โ โ โ โ โ Had limited time to pick up some grapes for a rehab patient at GF Strong and found all the cashiers had long lineups as the self checkout machines were down. They need better signage when this happens.

โ โ โ โ โ This is one of the older and few Safeway stores remaining in Vancouver. They have sufficient number of staff. In store departments include pharmacy, butcher, deli, floral section, bakery, and a sit in Starbucks. Free surface parking. Prices are higher than some chains but the new policy is lower competitive pricing. Great sale prices on select items. #letsguide

โ โ โ โ โ I was very disappointed to discover their pharmacy closed by 8pm on weekdays. I arrived at 8:04 and yes they were closed. I asked the woman if I could pick up- as we were in need of our medication- it was a rude flat out no.
While I didnโt really expect her to say yes- I was looking for a little more kindness.
I normally head to shoppers as they are open late, but Iโd picked up this prescription after a hospital visit- so I could only get the refil here.
Never again.

โ โ โ โ โ The store is nice and the fruits and vegetables are fresh and in good condition but busy at night, there are only 3 or 2 cashiers open, if there is a long queue, go to the cashier wearing a cute raccoon mask, she's going really fast,

โ โ โ โ โ At the intersection of two major roads, this store is easy to get to by car, transit, bike/scooter or on foot. Decent sized parking lot. But there are always drivers going the wrong way in the parking aisles with angled parking stalls facing one way only. The store is always clean and tidy like all other Safeways.

โ โ โ โ โ The store itself is pretty good. There is a limited selection on some things. The issue is the checkouts!! Saturday and Sunday Mornings they only have 3 open. The shelf checkout are closed early and any time after 8. Seems like no one knows how to run a store. Weekend open all the checkout and leave the self open later.

โ โ โ โ โ This is one of the better Safeway stores in the area, although it is quite an old store.
It has very good selections and lots of choices for everything.
Very good deli in three sections plus separate sections for cheese.
Great selection of meats and produce, and large bakery as well.
I did not find the organic produce very inviting. Most were wilted and quite expensive compared to Whole Foods Market.
I liked the plants and flower department.
The only negative is their little Starbucks stall with limited options, no microwave so, no warmed up cookies and snacks. No seating either.
