I wish I loved it. But the sashimi came with friends.

Hidden Japanese Gem. Located at a mini mall at Oak & King Edward between a Vietnamese eatery, a postal outlet, wine shop and other independent purveyors. We have finally found another Japanese restaurant to replace our old favorite which closed to become a gastro pub. The Osaka eatery has an excellent choice of Bento and combo boxes to suit our taste. Their bento boxes are deeper than the ones we've had in the past at other places...in a very good way. We each ordered the combo #1 with chicken teriyaki served over rice, mixed tempura, salad, California roll (8)! pieces and served with miso soup. The house teriyaki sauce was so delicious, less sweet and more savoury than other recipes we've had, the chicken was crispy but not dry, accompanied by bean sprouts that were steamed between the rice and chicken. The tempura consisted of a piece of prawn, a slice of pumpkin and a vegetable spring roll! The salad was crispy and the dressing was ice cold. One of my favorites in this box is the California roll. It was the perfect balance between creamy and savoury. Even better when dipped in soy & wasabi paste. Generous serving of food when you consider the quality, the number of items and the depth of the Bento box. Even the bowl that the miso soup was served in was deeper than what I've had elsewhere. The slice of a juicy orange was the perfect end to this box. For $13.50 this box is a satisfying meal. We will definitely return again with our son in tow.

Worst experience ever. I feel so regret for wasting my money here and made me feel like I should have got the Tim hortin’s sandwich. Definitely not coming back.

I ordered from Osaka Sushi after several years and the food quality has degraded significantly. The food was very over priced and it was pre prepared. I would never go back to grab food there.

Hmm, the first time I ate here it was good, and tasted fresh. Today I ordered what I had for my first order, half way through eating my stomach doesn't feel very good. The sunomono was very off, tasted like dirty salt water with no rice vinegar or vinegar at all. And the Dynamite Roll smells weird and Salmon Maki is very rubbery...I'm about 95% sure that this food is all pre-made, it tastes like yesterdays sushi, I wouldnt be suprised plus it shouldn't take 5 mins to prepare, considering there were 3 other people waiting. I will never eat here again.. I dont want to risk it. ??

Very solid food quality, a good option for a quick lunch. They are situated in the same plaza as the Safeway, which parking is tricky at the best of time. I always opt for street parking and walk back. I ordered their dynamite combo, which was a bit pricier than other sushi joints, but at the same time you get more food for your money. You get two pieces each of salmon, tuna and chopped scallop. It would be better if their combos came with miso soup. Overall good sushi place, would go back again.
