Brought my grandma here for groceries (7:30-8am)
She had to use the washroom and the horrible people working at this place refused her the washroom key because the washroom doesn’t open till 9….. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! You are REFUSING a lady of using your washroom (who is obviously not very physically able to run around kensington for a washroom) ….. INSANE!!!! Unfortunately we had to leave and had to drive around kensington trying to find a washroom …. GETT A GRIP YOU PEOPLE,…….. Safeway, find better employees

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All Safeways in town have free parkings. This one has a private parking company owned parking since recently.
I used to park there a week ago and never got any “tickets”, but just yesterday got a “ticket” for $80. There are neither barriers at the entrance nore at the exist. No payment machine at the parking lot.
Unbelievable money looting service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very adequate Safeway. It has a very relaxing vibe that I dig from a neighbourhood grocery store. Staff is quite friendly for the most part.
I wish the bakery made fresh bagels though!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice, clean, well lit community grocery store. Staff are all very knowledgeable and very friendly. I always receive excellent treatment whenever I shop here. It is a medium size Safeway store, but still carries a very large variety of grocery items. One of the best things about this store is that is has a free underground, heated parking lot, so it is quite a pressure shopping here in the middle of winter for sure!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ AVOID REFROZEN FOOD SECTION. I have shopped here for over a year and everytime we get frozen food its frezzer burnt or it half defrosted. AVOID THIS .
The deil kinda lacks on hot food selection. But overall a nice store . Good if you just buy sale items . ALWAYS look at best before dates as theres lots of expired food here or someone isnt rotating. Gets busy around 5 so avoid if you can.
Again, FROZEN food seemed to be left out of the freezer to long . As most of the time products looked to have defrosted and refrozen. (Lasagna pack frozen and its all on one side /perogies have bad freezer burn)
Lots of freezer burned foods. ) try and avoid this section. Unless you open the box before you buy it .
Bulk buns are hard and probably the old bagged stuff that did not sell .
Dont go in the bathroom its reserved for junkies .
Green oinon cake charged as 2 samosas WATCH THE DELI STICKERS!!!!!i got ripped off and only noticed when i got home.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So easy to access via bus train car or walk ( Gladstone road really straight direct rte in all weather- I'm mobile challenged). Clean well stocked organized and fair prices (sales points). I like to go at 8 am where more reduced price stock often found ( low income senior). Has a coffee station, magazine, community papers, washroom access. I avoid longlineups via 8 am weekday shopping.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the samosas from here! They are better than most traditional restaurants. They are big, full of flavour and not oily at all. The stuffing was a perfect balance of meat, veggies and spices. We had the butter chicken and chicken samosa. We highly recommend it.The only reason it is not a 5/5 is because of the price. Each samosa is about $3.50 which is very expensive but still delicious.
