Ridiculously short staffed in the whole hospital. And our room is like an oven!!!! No way to turn it down. Apparently this thermostat in our room is just for looks!!! And the only nurse that knows how to get ahold of maintenance is not on duty. What a joke

If you want help DO NOT GO HERE! Horrifying experience not only in emergency but in the south 1 location where I was told I was an β€œinvolentrary patient” when I openly and eagerly was seeking out resources to connect with over depression. Staff lacks knowledge, ediquite and compassion towards not only myself but others I was staying around. Doctors don't have ant consideration towards the patients and I found in my experience as have others I spoke too that they were over medication psychiatric patients.

My family has been in Kamloops only 2 years. Since we’ve been here my husband visited 3 times with chest pain and they told him it was a pulled muscle. He knew it wasn’t, he was sent home. I came home from a walk to find my husband having a heart attack. He was having mini attacks for 2 weeks before the big one. They apologize and state that because he is only 47, they didn’t do the extensive testing that they probably should have! NOT ACCEPTABLE! Now I’m in need for a breast ultrasound and have have a doctor send 2 different requisitions in, within 2 months and I have yet to get a call for appointment. I went for a mammogram and was told the doctor would like to give me and ultrasound and they would call me. 2 weeks have passed, no call. Called there 3 days ago to ask about an appointment, and was told they would be calling me. Still no call. I am sooo upset, as far as I’m concerned they don’t care, they are incompetent and I would trust them with my dog!

Firstly - Absolutely disgusted in our medical system lately and how this hospital has treated us. My husband almost got denied access into the hospital with me for an appointment because he wasn't vaccinated. I needed him with me for support through the procedures I was getting done. Good thing our appointment was for prenatal or he wouldn't have been let in with me. Secondly- the er doctors who's goals are to push people in and out so quickly that they miss testing and tell very Ill hurting patients they are fine, nothing is wrong with them, is a disgrace. 2 times in the er and not a single answer.... what happen to the care and time you gave people. This past 2 years has worsened our medical system and we the people are losing out on proper care because of it!

I was in the waiting room of emergency for 5 hours and its not the wait that bothered me it was watching how poorly staff treated people especially seniors and people of colour. I work in health care and I understand working short is hard and tiring and it is especially bad right now but it is never an excuse to treat people with disrespect, you are in a caring profession so why do it if you are gonna treat people horribly. The intake nurse was very short and rude and made me feel bad for even coming to the hospital. I didn't even come out with an outcome for how I was feeling and I feel my symptoms were ignored and just labelled as covid even though I had been tested the day prior and it had been negative as well as I had done several rapid tests all had been negative. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I will never go to this hospital again. I would drive to Kelowna to see a doctor over going to RIH again.

Can't provide the basics, like a map of the hospital. Seriously interior health, we can not find a map of the hospital. Put one on your website for starters. It's no wonder people are wandering around the corridors constantly lost. The internal sinage is ~3/10 quality, and nurses have installed duct tape on the floor to compensate for the poor communication, the duct tape has been there 8+ years now. Please address the root problem, we need maps. Also, if you have an appointment for imaging? That's cool but you'll have to wait HOURS AGAIN in triage for someone to tell you what's on the imaging. Apparently if you don't hate the system by the time you're discharged, interior health hasn't done their job. Ps: nurses; we can all hear you talking poorly about patients! Maybe don't do that in the ER? The fabric walls aren't muffling your disdain for the public. After the incident in Quebec you think they would be better.

I have been admitted to this hospital on many occasions over the last 15 years once life threatening. I agree the hospital is a busy place. Everyone everywhere is over worked and under paid. That said all of the staff I have ever dealt with have been kind, caring and very professional. If not for the care I have received there I would not be alive today. The staff is not there to hand out lollipops and kiss boo boos they are there when we need help and do there upmost to do everything possible to help with your issues. I for 1 would not hesitate going to this hospital if I needed urgent care. Thank you all nothing but good wishes going forward. ???

Several horrible experiences at this hospital in terms of the severely lacking quality of care given when coming through ER over the past decade. Long wait times are understandable, but to finally see a doctor that dismisses you without any treatment within 5 minutes is unbelievable. I have to wait 2 days with an extremely swollen face triggered by an allergic reaction to talk to my family doctor and receive a prescription for the inflammation. Triage nurse on another occasion was absolutely awful and judgmental when seeking help with a sensitive situation.
