I grew up in Prince Albert and then moved to Saskatoon for University. I have done all of my education at the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to medical school, I completed a Ph.D. in Biochemistry with a focus on Cancer Research. During my previous research career, I found myself wanting to do more for people at an individual level, so I made the transition to medical school. During medical school I fell in love with family medicine and rural medicine. I first started coming out to Rosthern during my medical school rotations and it remains my favorite place to work. After medical school, I matched to the Prince Albert Rural Family Medicine Program.
Dr Furber has a special interest in working with patients with substance use disorders

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very unfriendly and unhelpful receptionists. Difficult to get an appointment...booking weeks in advance. Seems like they are serving more people than they have the capacity to...stretched very thinly. Doctors don't follow up with you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have visited Rosthern Medical clinic a few times and have found the staff to be polite and professional. If they aren't always cheerful, they likely have a full schedule and are simply focused on being efficient.
Wait times and quality of care are generally on par with city clinics, and there is a full-service medical lab a few steps from the door. I am grateful to have a decent medical clinic 15 minutes from my home as opposed to a one-hour drive to Saskatoon.
