An excellent hike, a real hidden gem in the Ottawa/Kingston area. The view from the summit is very impressive (with fall colors it is absolutely beautiful). An excellent place for a family picnic to soak up the view. Total hike time for both loops is roughly 2hrs. I would rate the trail as moderate difficulty - some portions are steep but much is level, both in woods and on rock ledges. Most of trail is not groomed, it's all natural with many tree roots and knobbly rocks - so wear good footwear. Note that you need to buy a pass for a specific departure timeslot - see online for details. Also parking is very limited, so try to go early.

A well kept easy circular hiking trail with a beautiful view at the halfway point.

This was an unplanned day trip. Saw the sign off county road 15 heading north of Kingston on the left hand side. The cost is $10 to park and free to climb. The trail is well marked with plastic yellow cut out triangles attached to trees along the trail. Once you get to the rock part of the trail it is lined with orange pant and also blue spray painted arrows. We saw to old log cabin lookout posts on our way around. It was 30 degrees when we went last week. Bring lots of water. I highly suggest packing a lunch and eating it at the summit. We spent about 30 minutes chilling eating and exploring the top. We started at 1:30 pm and with 30 mins at the top we were back in our car at 3:30 PM. Lastly bring bug spray as the horse flies were out of this world. At the top there is less vegetation and we had a slight breeze so the bugs were not so bad at the top. Bring a camera because you get a good 270 degree view. If you're lucky you'll see the ten plus Turkey vultures hovering above.

Staff are great, trails are well maintained and the virw is stunning. Horse flies were out in full force, but really nice spot! Dog friendly too!

You really are rewarded with a scenic lookout at the top of the trails, and the views were absolutely amazing. The trail up wasn’t too bad, clearly marked, and took us around 40-50 minutes with stops. There were maybe two steps along the way that could be measured a foot high and also a fairly steep ramp that I was able to charge easily enough (so parents and/or novices beware), but aside from that mostly smaller and flattened out boulders and Canadian Shield, and a fair number of trees and alternative paths on the trails if you find the direct route challenging. We were able to comfortably attempt the whole trail in our runners but I’d still recommend wearing appropriate hikers just in case. We were able to get back to the parking lot in 30 mins or so.

Absolutely loved this place. The trails were well marked out and the view from the lookout was spectacular! Definitely would go again!

Incredible, one of the best views I’ve ever witnessed. The fall colors interspersed with lakeside cottages lend a majestic picture when you reach the lookout. Admittedly, the hike itself isn’t very exciting but it was worth the 3 hr drive from Toronto.

The summit loop is absolutely amazing. You may drive your vehicle into Stanley Lash Lane and park near the trail entrance. A hiking pass is required. The trail itself is between easy and moderate. 5km loop is under 2 hour time. There are a few benches on the north side of trail on your way back.
