He encouraged me to bring in whatever music I enjoyed — Beatles, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell — and by the end of the lesson, I was playing some great, great songs. Highly recommended.

He is dedicated to my development as a guitarist and inspires and encourages his student’s progress to achieve their personal goals on the the guitar. He has worked with me through out my development from absolute beginner to a technically proficient jazz guitarist, and he continues to help me grow. He now also teaches my son, who is just starting on the instrument. My son is just as happy with Rob as am I.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rob is the most encouraging and impactful guitar instructor I could ever have imagined, across all levels. My 17 year-old son is a very serious emerging jazz musician whom Rob teaches and mentors to high level performance. A few years after he started teaching my son, I started with Rob as a rank beginner in middle-age, with a slight fear of music born of some bad childhood experiences. Four years later, Rob has helped me become a songwriter and has made music a central joy in my life. He’s taught me to think musically and to develop the music I have in me, by fostering a beautiful synthesis of discipline and intuition. Thanks so much, Rob!
