Revera McKenzie Towne - Calgary

Jim has been a resident of Revera McKenzie Towne for close to 4 years now. The staff are all wonderful!!! Special shout out to Diane in recreation xo. We like that the residence is small in comparison to other care centres, and there are great activities for the residents to participate in. Jim especially likes the bus trips that are offered, and Happy Hour!! Now that COVID is settling down, we are looking forward to a return to all the wonderful events and activities!

Please do not go by the negative reviews posted here. It is very well maintained and CLEAN. The food is good and varied and the staff is AMAZING. We had visited many memory care and retirement residences but when we walked into Revera McKenzie Towne, it immediately felt like home and knew this was the place for mom. From the residents to the staff, everyone was very welcoming and understanding. This was especially important as mom adjusted to life in memory care as she suffered from dementia. Pre-covid, we enjoyed Happy Hour in the downstairs area - complete with big screen TV and aquarium. Mom loved watching the fishes and joking with the staff. Recreation staff ensured residents were stimulated with different activities (crafts, manicures, bingo, and even impromptu games of bowling in the hallways!). There's a pool table and shuffleboard room, and a library with oodles of books! Location is great - right on Inverness pond and steps away from High Street where (pre-covid) we walked with mom whenever possible. Pet friendly! Mom loved when the director brought his goldens in for their regular visit. We were able to bring our frenchie in for visits as well - much to the delight of all the residents! When your loved one has dementia and requires more care than you can provide, Revera McKenzie Towne makes the best of a bad situation. My mom felt safe and loved here - likely for the first time ever in her life. Mom passed away peacefully in her apartment surrounded by love, kindness, and professionalism. Mom had developed friendships with many of the staff and I cannot say enough good things about them. If you're looking for a place for your loved ones, please do yourself a favour and check Revera McKenzie Towne out.

In response to Ginetta Carnevale's review that is not true at all. She doesn't really know about the place as she hasn't visited there more than one time and has no ideal how the employees work. Yes it is an older building but it is well upkept and clean. The staff are very good and pleasant and more than willing to help the clients in any way they can. I know the difference between the two care homes and the communication at the new place wasn't as good as Mckenzie Towne is. My mom moved from Revera to a newer facility and it is a nicer place but it was not the same kind of care and my mom was very sorry she left She did try to give the newer place a chance but my mom still wanted to go back. My mom is now back at Revera and is very happy to see all the staff and her friends. Plus all the staff are very happy to see her return to her home and is now waiting on her private room. I am also pleased that she has returned I am really impressed with the communication between the facilities and the Doctors communication with the family members and the good care they give.

My mother is a new resident (6 months) and I could not be more happy with the treatment she receives. A resident of Inverness, my mother is happy and well-cared for. The staff treat her and her family as though we are their family. The treat especially warmly and with respect. I am excited to visit Mom to see what activities she's done and how content she is with the staff there. I would highly recommend this location, even if you are nervous about helping your relatives into a home.

I love living at McKenzie Towne Retirement Residence! The staff are all wonderful and attentive. I get 3 meals a day that taste wonderful and I am offered a great variety of different foods and options. I particularly enjoy the Entertainment and all the Activities offered. McKenzie Towne's 'High Street' is directly outside my door and the small 'main street' has everything and anything that you could want or need from Dentist, pharmacy, Dollar store, Coffee Shop, Pubs, restaurants, Sobeys, etc. Beautiful Pond and walking paths. I would absolutely recommend living here!

My mother has been living at Revera McKenzie Towne for 3 years. It was difficult for us to make the decision to move her out of her house into retirement living, but we are grateful that we made the choice, our family couldn't be happier! Revera McKenzie Towne is a welcoming home and the staff are very caring and compassionate. She loves her suite, all the amenities, the nursing services, recreational activities, the meals, the safe and secure environment and all the many friends that she has met. The management response during this COVID pandemic has been exceptional. As a daughter, I wanted only the best for my mom and I am so grateful that Revera McKenzie Towne has provided my mom with just that...the best!

My parents have been calling the Revera McKenzie Towne retirement community their home for close to 4 years, I live out of province and in pre-pandemic times, have enjoyed staying in the guest suites while visiting my parents. Not only has this given me the opportunity to spend quality time with them, I have also appreciated meeting the caring staff and friendly residents, and participating in the many life-enriching activities. The staff always welcome me as family and treat my parents with kindness and respect. I leave feeling grateful that my parents have a caring place that they can truly call home.

My mom has been a resident here for nearly 5 years following her stroke. Initially she was in independant living and the last 2 years in Memory Care due to Dementia. The team at McKenzie Towne is caring, kind and compassionate and keep me well informed in the event of a fall, illness or any need she has. My mom is always dressed nicely and clean. Her room is clean, her neighboorhood unit is clean and meals are good with snacks and drinks available through the day. Repairs are addessed right away and the building is well maintained. Memory Care has lovely patios with plants plus a garden on the main level that my mom enjoys. Recreation has multiple activites daily and encourages the residents to particpate. Concerts are every Wednesday and bus outings for country drives are weekly. I am grateful for the care my mom receives at Revera McKenzie Towne.
