★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here on a whim for an early dinner, ended up being a fantastic and stylish date spot. When we were seated, initially there was a bad smell in the dining room that was off-putting at first. It went away by the time the delicious food arrived. My partner and I shared a chicken dinner for 2, which included kimchi, dumplings, rice, and a big sizzling cast iron full of chicken and vegetables. I was really inspired by the sauce that was on the chicken, I believe a spicy Gochujang base but it was also very sweet, not overly oily, it was sublime. We enjoyed our veggie dumplings and kimchi, an appreciated accompaniment.
The ice cream that came with the meal was a great milky palate cleanser but my recommendation is to not get it with the chocolate sauce, it was too sweet and took over the taste of the already sweet ice cream.
Our server was awesome, very attentive, friendly and could speak so many languages, I was impressed! We'll be back for sure, glad we found this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was ok. The food was very good, but the service was very ordinary. The server barely ever stopped by our table and she couldn't /wouldn't do more than one thing at once (carry one plate at a time even though many were ready for ou table, carry one glass at a time, pick up one dirty or finished plate at a time, etc) and would hurry back behind the bar to go on her phone, which made the service incredibly slow. We also had to ask for water a few time as she didn't really pay attention to us.
Food was tasty, but the all you can eat menu we went to was very confusing and our absent server never stopped to explain to us how things worked. Pretty disappointing in general.
The name of the restaurant is a bit confusing. It's an Asian/sushi place, but it's called Bistro Californie? I wouldn't expect that kind of food just from the name.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very cute and lowkey korean restaurant. I had the takoyaki, fried chicken and spring rolls entrees, all were really delicious! They have really nice tteokbokki as well.
Although I wouldn't recommend getting the japchae noodles, its lacking flavour and spice.
The service was really nice and the chef even gave us redbean taiyaki after our meal which was really delicious and pleasant surprise. I would love to come back to try something else from the menu
