After 2 years of renting with them I still have no access to their Renters portal, which they regularly post "updates" (illegal changes) to your lease that you get no say in because you cant even see what they have changed! After moving from one house to another both owned by renters choices I was refused my damage deposit returned even though there was no damage!

Inquired about a place through kijiji or Facebook and they signed me up for a marketing email list. Totally illegal. If they’re that clueless about CASL I can’t imagine they’re much better about the tenancy act. Huge red flag. Edit: It has come to light that these people have Inspire Marketing and Media in downtown Lethbridge managing their email list, and that their collective ignorance of spam laws was in fact a group effort.

Save yourself the waste of time these "people " will put you through . Nothing but unanswered calls , unanswered massages ! They'll ask you for 500 references. If you have a pet you'll need 2 references that can't be family or friends HAHHA . The whole office is a pathetic joke.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! Would give 0 stars if possible. Customer service interactions were always incredibly rude and took forever to get anything done. Would have to send me through a chain of 5 people before I even got the chance to explain what needed fixing. Then it took 2 weeks+ after that for someone to come. Dishwasher had been broken for a month when we moved out and probably still is. Tried to say it cost 700+ to clean a house that was already clean.

I have lived here for 5 years and I have to say renters choice does a wonderful job! Amy T, inspection clerk, came yesterday and requested some small repairs. She worked so fast on the request order that my window was fixed today already and the bathroom sink will be fixed at 930 tomorrow morning! Absolutley blown away how fast and wonderful this woman is! She is a very wonderful person and very friendly. I just wanted to share and say thank you

They allowed the landlords to break our lease several times. They knew that the homeowner (male) and a friend (male) had shown up several times without notice and had tried to force entry into our house by assuming we didn’t know our rights (three female tenants). Renter’s choice did nothing about this. Upon move out, they assured us that because we didn’t have carpet we did not require a professional cleaner and that as long as they could see we cleaned before leaving it would be fine. Two out of three of us were on self isolation during move out. One of us had to clean the entire house and spent over 8 hours doing so (scrubbing baseboards, cleaning the stove, pulling out the vents and vacuuming, etc) and then one of us spent more time a couple of days later once off isolation. they’re taking 3/4 of our damage deposit despite there being NO damage and the house was CLEAN when we left including charges for removal of things that were on property before we moved in. I don’t recommend their services, they do not care about their tenants.

Absolute bunch of crooks, massively overcharging for repairs of minor damage, a huge cleaning bill for a place that only needed a minor cleaning. That in itself is a huge slap in the face considering the time and money we put into cleaning ourselves, the inspection clerk even commented on how clean we had made it, so a $300+ charge was certainly unexpected. We had a leaking tap the whole time we lived there and no repairs were ever done. If you currently live with renter's choice, do yourself a favour, don't worry about damage and don't bother clean, the little bit of money you lose on the damage deposit will be well worth the time.

My fiance and I apply for a place when we applied we were told we were currently the only ones with the application in. We had given all the references they required we tried to keep in contact with them through texting and calling only to be barely responded too. We kept getting told I have to talk to my supervisor they kept asking more and more things throughout the week instead of getting everything all at once. Then they offer us a much smaller place saying well others have applied, even though we were first and had given them everything they asked for. This is unprofessional and stressful to the customer.
