★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rekker's Garden Center in Maple Grove between Courtice and Bowmanville could be a good garden center and place to go for plants, garden accessories and knick knacks if and when they improve their staff's customer service skills and adopt/extend a welcoming attitude to all their customers.
Usually set up inside and outside with pretty plant arrangements, lots of healthy plant selections and a decent selection of garden decor, on our first visit we were filled with excitement to peruse and buy from this relatively large garden store which was immediately deflated by the unwelcoming attitude of several of their staff members. Subsequent visits to Rekker's months apart proved to be more of the same poor attitude.
So Rekker's falls short as a good garden center for us primarily due to many of their staff's unwelcoming, unfriendly and sometimes downright snooty attitudes which is a complete turnoff for us.
Plus, the higher than average prices for their plants, decor and floral arrangements don't help neither towards changing our minds.
Free parking in front of the store on a rough, gravel, parking area. Wheel chair accessible with assistance.
