About Regina Flying Club

Today, the Regina Flying Club is the only flight training facility on the airport, training dozens of new pilots every year. RFC graduates have gone on to fly commercial passenger jets for many airlines around the world, as well as regional carriers, bush flying and military aircraft. The RFC also hosts various Royal Canadian Air Cadet training programs, Civil Air Search and Rescue (CASARA) exercises, and is one of the training sites of the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Commercial Pilot Diploma program.

Each May, the club celebrates the achievements of its students and staff at its annual Wings Night which also attracts keynote speakers from around the aviation community, including past graduates and military aviation experts. In early June, the annual Open House offers the public an opportunity to get up close and personal with civilian and military aircraft on display, as well as informational displays from various aviation groups and companies.

As any pilot will tell you, getting licensed is not easy nor cheap. However, RFC has the resources and spirit to make your experience a positive one. They have a fleet of well maintained Aircraft and a state of the art Red Bird Simulator. However the real meat and potatoes of this club is its instructors. These unwavering professionals (I've flown with many of them) really make every minute in the Aircraft one in which you are truly learning and improving as a pilot. That is a far cry from many schools where instructors are just going through the motions with an objective of building hours rather than teaching the Next Gen of aviators.

I had the pleasure of spending a few hours at RFC while waiting for my passenger to complete his business. The RFC team was exceptionally welcoming, helpful and one of the most hospitable I’ve come across. They appeared to be running a very professional operation with comfortable lounges, nicely equipped airplanes as well as a Red Bird simulator. Make sure to give the hangar cat, Maverick, a chin scratch when you visit.

Visited Regina Flying Club when there was open plane show in the city and gotta see many different types of planes. One of the best thing I came to know is that they offer β€œPilot for an hour” service where you get an opportunity to be a pilot and can fly a small plane for about an hour around the city, of course with the instructor. Also its not that expensive, hopefully one day I will go and be a pilot for an hour once this Covid js over
