Absolutely terrible. Was given a $350 gift card for my October birthday, and was told that the boots that I wanted wouldn’t be available until Christmas. Company refuses to refund the gift card, and expects me to wait 2+ months for redemption due to their inability to keep adequate stock levels. My family will never do business with Red Wing Shoes, or Northern factory Workwear again. When I called, the manager (Steve) advised me that the “owner” refused any refunds, but he would put out a request for fulfillment to other stores. He agreed to get back to me 5 days ago, but must have been too busy. These boots (Roughneck 8146) are NOT a “special order”, they are part of the regular line, and the store had a display unit, and stock in other sizes. Any insinuation otherwise is a clear indication of being intentionally deceitful. Although I appreciate the apology for the policy of your company, your complete refusal of any meaningful action speaks louder than words. I thought Red Wing would be more ethical, and I have completely lost any confidence in their brand.

Purchased a $300 pair of boots from Red Wing on 8th Street last fall. My size just happened to be the ones on display. They had a couple of creases near the toes. I assumed that was from people trying them on. The salesperson (Jesse) assured me that there was nothing wrong with the boots. I enquired if they could match the price of a major retail outlet. He said “no” but went on to add that we provide free polish and laces for the life of the boots but failed to mention that service was not provided for the boots that I purchased . Took the boots home and walked 3 to 5 kilometres in them. The creases at the toe were even more noticeable after this short distance. Returned to the store with the boots. Jesse blew me off and said we don’t do returns on used items. Contacted Steve Ford (manager,owner?) Steve was able to get another pair of boots and accommodated an exchange. Excellent customer service on his part. Fast forward to April 6. Went to the store yesterday because the laces were fraying and asked for a new pair of laces. Jesse rang in the laces. I asked about his statement from last fall about free laces and polish. Apparently at the time of the sale he forgot to mention that only applies to work boots not hunting boots. It’s not a question of whether I can afford the laces it’s a matter of principle. I decided to leave the store without buying the laces. As I left the store it appeared that as my back was turned he CLAPPED and LAUGHED. I contacted Steve Ford again about my most recent experience-where that goes is anybody’s guess. Several other reviews point to a lack of customer satisfaction with Jesse. Needless to say the next pair of boots that I purchase won’t be from this store. Thank you for your response- Jesse expressly stated when he made the sale that the brand of boots that I purchased came with lifetime FREE laces and oiling. That was not the motivation for purchasing the boots.

Excellent customer service friendly helpful end result I left with another pair of redwings.

My husband needed a specialized shoe. Ellie Bartel, a helpful staff, listened to his needs, made a recommendation. Because this shoe was out of stock, she ordered them. They called when the shoes arrived in the store on Circle Drive. My husband says, "These shoes are perfect with the correct fit and great quality." Thank you for the efficient customer service with high quality footwear.

Knowledgeable staff, most comfortable boot I've ever had.

The staff were helpful. I found a few items that I was needing. I found the insoles to be of good quality, though quite expensive.

I've went through three pairs of boots in the past 4-5 years. These were all purchased through Sportchek and were McKinley boots now discontinued. (See in photos) I was hesitant to spend over $400 on work boots, but my new Red Wing Heritage Moc Toes are an investment. I put my orthotics into them and walked out of the store feeling like they were nearly broken in. Jesse was also tremendously helpful, and I give his service an equal 5 stars. I am incredibly happy to be an owner of such a craftsman product and can't wait to have to reburish these boots; so that they have the best of both worlds. New rubber, and old broken in leather that fits so comfortably you can't possibly imagine throwing them out. These boots, I suspect after a number off years of wear, will get refurbished until they have to be retired on a shelf.

Boots didn’t fit right and I thought I was out of luck, instead I was dealing with a friendly person and walking out with the right boots. Looking forward to working in these boots and I really appreciate the customer service that Red Wing offers! Quality boots made in USA, got to love it!
