DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT. I placed an order for takeout for an estimated delivery in one hour. I called after an hour and a half, and they had trouble even finding my order. They said they were going to get on it right away. I waited another hour before calling again, and they couldn't find my order in the kitchen so they figured it was out for delivery. I called back after another half hour, and they still had not even started to prepare my order.

Food - especially the ginger beef - is of the highest quality. Generous portions at a great price. Try them - you will be pleasantly surprised.

The portions were huge and the 3 dishes were more than enough for 4 ppl to eat! This is what was left over from 2 ppl dining. Business is open for public.

My husband and I took the time out to search out a good Chinese restaurant, we had been travelling all day. I ordered a dinner for 1 and upgraded from chop suey to chow me in… My husband ordered the second dinner for 1… I also ordered chicken wings as a starter… As soon as the chicken wings came out, I could see that something was not right…they were terrible. I’m not sure what the flavour was but it even smelled bad. We sent them back, the waitress was very kind and very polite. She came and asked if maybe they could put teriyaki sauce on them and we said no, we wouldn’t be eating them at all. She brought out our meals and I could not eat anything, I’ve never had chow mein that is crunchy, turned me off, I tasted the white rice but it too had an unfamiliar odour…I was turned off my meal completely…we said we’d pay for it but I wasn’t eating it, again, very kind, asked if I’d like a take out box to which I replied, no thank you. My husband ate the chicken on his plate, and ate my sesame chicken against my wishes but he was hungry. He tried his chicken fried rice and said it tasted burnt? He didn’t touch his chop suey because he said he’d never had chop suey like that before. Our waitress was very nice…she didn’t charge us for the chicken wings but it’s a shame we paid $35 for a meal we could not eat. If ever travelling through Red Deer again… I would not eat here or recommend it.

AVOID AVOID AVOID DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!! I ordered takeout through uber eats, which was delivered to my doorstep (by their driver) no knock heard or PHONE CALL even letting me know it was delivered so you'd guess my food got cold. My two chow mein meals were both completely unedible One just completely uncooked and raw, the noodles were basically snapping off. And the other one completely burnt and black also containing snapping noodles.None of the special instruction were followd at all. I had picture proof of EVERYTHING AS WELL OF PROOF OF IT IN MY GARBADGE only for the owner to yell at me LIE and tell me that's just how they made it and there was nothing they could do but to come back and reorder (typical) Also tried telling me i ate my food when i have PICTURE PROOF AND IT IS THE OPPOSITE OF FRESH. I promise you this stuff is not fresh, the noodles were basically morphed into the package and you can tell it had been in there for awhile(sitting on a shelf). Did not help they did nothing but tell me to come back to the restaurant, i dont have the time for that as it way all the way on the other end from where i live hence why i got delivery and wanted my refund. Completely unedible and horrible unprofessional managment that only care about whats in your pocket!!!!!!! 40 bucks down the drain, seems they only ever try when its convenient for the restaurant which explains the few amount of okay reviews. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID They WILL LIE to keep the buisness and get paid

I ordered delivery last night. Maybe in house dining is better, however my experience was very disappointing. I ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, beef fried rice, chicken with orange sauce and the steamed pork bun dim sum. Although the delivery time was quite quick only took around 30 minutes compared to the hour the said it would take, it was the food that was far from par. The Beef fried rice was good, it was cooked well and moist enough. How ever the container they give it to you in is the size of a small soup bowl. Which i found a little annoying as it was $13. But size aside the rice tasted good. The chicken balls were one of the worst two items. They must have had left over chicken balls and thought they cooked just cook them a little more to make them seem fresh. Otherwise they clearly just didn't care and let them cook to the point of rock hardness. I had difficulty merely sinking a metal fork into the chicken ball to cut in half it was so hard. As well they had a dark brown outer colour instead of light gold colour. Which led to my assumption of refrying or merely just over cooking the hell out of them. As for size and price I'm not sure what other Chinese food places give you, but I received 12 chicken rocks (balls) for $15. So do with that information what you will. The steamed pork buns were the other item embarrassingly sad. Steamed is the first word in the name of the item, it tasted like they were left on a counter in open air for 3 days. The outside had a rough hard layer built up on the outside. The bun was chewy and rubber like, with an almost non existent filling. Fortunately enough I only paid $6 for 3 of them so it could've been far more disappointing in a larger quantity. The orange chicken was decent, it seemed to be cooked well. Once again my only issue with it was portion size. You get a very small container at the cost of $15. In conclusion, the taste of your food was okay for the items that weren't overcooked or dry and old. However, in a cost, taste and size comparison. This restaurant can't compete with the rest of red deer's restaurants. Even a place like Phoenix buffet, their food costs the same as Red Star's. However Phoenix Buffet gives you larger containers and 2 containers of the same item, for the same price.

Here the lady took my order at 7:45 pm for 12 pcs of siomai. She came to me 8:20 pm saying there is a problem in the stove and additional 15 mins is needed. she can return my money if I can’t wait that long. Seriously!? Is this the right customer service approach??? It is their fault and still have the courage to yell?? Not even a single apology because of poor customer service??? Anyhow, while i wait for another 15 mins, i took pictures of how untidy this restaurant.

The restaurant is clean & our server was amazing. I came around 1pm and it was kinda empty and quiet. I was abit hesitant at first and didn't expect much. I had dim sum on my mind and it's been awhile. The wait was abit longer then expected but it was definitely worth it! The dimsum was fresh, crispy and moist in all the right places and I was just shocked! It was SO GOOD! I ordered congee and to my surprise it was good as well. But this is where I fell in love. I ordered the fried taro dumplings. These crispy coated taro dumplings have a moist delicious filled center with minced meat now this dish is my favorite but far and few places would even add them to thier menu and they nailed it. The price is abit pricey but It was good. I had a really good experience here for dim sum.
