Had a friend from out of country attend RAC. When he got there and experienced a few weeks of what the school had to offer, which was outdated equipment and software, an amateur selection of microphones, youtube videos replacing in class instruction, and other assorted disappointments, he decided it wasn’t for him. After expressing his concerns to the people in charge and requesting a refund for the amount he’d paid, minus some for the schooling he’d already received, all he got was excuses and the run-around. Look RAC, if you offer a quality product that you’re confident in you should have no problem giving money back to dissatisfied customers (within reason of course). In fact it should happen so infrequently and come as such a surprise that you immediately spring into action to address whatever issues arise. Unfortunately his is not the only negative experience I’ve heard of from disparate sources. What the behaviour of admins and owners screams loud and clear is that you do NOT offer a product you stand behind, are NOT willing to listen to and rectify customers’ concerns, but ARE entirely comfortable with ripping people off. If this review keeps even 1 person from signing up at your β€œschool” it will have served its purpose.

The ACTUAL job placement rate of students from this school is 1 per graduating class! That is a FACT. Only 1 person out of every class will actually end up working in the music business. Do not waste your money with this place. It is selling false hopes and dreams. If you're good enough to make it in the business, you'll make it without them.

The sound and music recording program is the real thing. From the first week of class onward, I started to see how little I actually knew, and it shed light on the rookie mistakes I’d been making in my own productions. Im very grateful to the instructors for pointing me in the right direction and guiding me into my career in the audio industry. Recommend this place to anyone who is ready to level up their production skills!

I recently attended a workshop here and got a lot of insight into the mistakes of my own studio layout that Ive been using for years. The professor/teacher was full of information on acoustics and tips for improving the quality of home recordings so I can be more competitive with pro studios. I recommend going to one of these events becase you can learn a lot from the experienced producers there

I graduated from RAC in 2013 and can honestly say it was the best time of my life so far. The instructors are all super talented musicains and engineers who really care about their students experience. I liked the small class sizes and the option of booking the studios for use after class. I have my own studio now and work as a live sound engineer, but I still miss my days as a student here!

I cannot stress this enough; stay as far away from this place as possible. RAC will accept ANYONE who pays their overpriced tuition costs - there is virtually no prerequisites for entry into their diploma mill. The program is VERY basic and outdated. Speaking of outdated, the computers/studio equipment are 10-15 years old and they don't even bother to renew or update their DAW program. Only unaware internationals and delusional artists who do not take the time to research schools/programs end up enrolled here. RAC offers nothing but empty promises and disappointment.

The amount you learn in a few months here, let alone a whole year, is crazy. The teachers are almost always available for individual tutoring if you ask for it, which has played a huge part in my development. And the project work has been fun. I'm excited to start my second semester in a few weeks!

Beware of this overpriced, outdated, unprofessional diploma mill. Spend your money on studio gear and do your own self-learning online. If you don't have the work ethic for self-learning, go to another college - and I mean ANY other college. The diploma you receive from this place isn't worth the paper it's printed on in terms of finding work in the industry. Waste of $22k
