β β β β β We rented out this space for our wedding reception and dinner after an intimate ceremony at the garden. Helmut, the manager, was communicative and accommodating. The food was quite good. It was very convenient to have the reception so close to the ceremony space in the garden. And it helped to rent the bridal room above the cafe for the day to get ready and keep our personal items. Iβd recommend to anyone looking for a simple and convenient wedding reception space after a ceremony at RRG. Iβm only docking one star because at the end of the night we had to race out, along with our guests at 11pm as we were told our cars would be locked in if we didnβt get out before then. Something that obviously should have been communicated more clearly before the day of our wedding, much less 15 minutes until 11. Previously weβd been told that we could stay until 11, and not that weβd be locked in if we didnβt leave before 11. Obviously just a communication breakdown, but it caused an abrupt and hasty end to our otherwise very relaxed and joyous day. If you book a wedding reception here, just make sure to contact the park to confirm when the gate gets locked, and any other details in advance.

β β β β β Such a lovely cottage style cafe inside a beautiful garden. The staff were so friendly and so many great choices on the menu. The food is all based off of things that they grow in their garden. Different times of the summer will give you different experiences. Itβs definitely a place we will go to again and again. Itβs a small walk up a rocky path to the cafe from the parking lot. When finding the location youβll need to search reader rock garden to get directions to the parking lot and then there are lots of signs from there that will lead you up the hill to the cafe. When youβre done your meal take some time to walk through the many paths that go through the park.

β β β β β Itβs a cute cafe with a cabin-like ambience and a small patio. The service is very friendly.
The menu isnβt too large but still has a good selection. Portions sizes arenβt huge - about right for lunch. You wonβt feel too full to walk around the gardens after.

β β β β β Quaint historical home located in a garden that you can walk around in. While the atmosphere was charming, I was a bit skeptical when I saw that the food was already laid out at our table. Particularly concerning if I had been dining with anyone who has food allergies.
For High Tea $38, you received the following bite size items:
- 4 sandwiches: egg salad, salmon with dill, humus and asparagus and ham
- 2 scones w fresh cream or jam: these were my favorite as they tasted like sugar cookies in a scone texture
- 2 desserts: cream puff and fudge
Other than refilling our teapot, there wasn't really any other service provided.
I would rate it 2.5 - the food was average and I found the highlight was more walking through the gardens which is a free activity.

β β β β β Loved it from the moment I've seen it from far. The location and atmosphere are the best thing.
Service is excellent and food is good but a bit pricey.
I can't wait to come back again and again.

β β β β β Amazing cafe! You do have to get a server's attention to get seated during peek hours, but they take amazing care of you once you're seated!
I recommend reserving a week in advance if you want to guarantee a seat outside on the weekend (small space). There is a bit of noise from traffic below, but not terrible.
We ordered the homemade chicken pot pie & soup (split pea featured that day), and lox bagel & salad. The chicken pot pie could use a bit more salt, however, the bagel was very refreshing! The salad is also very fresh, highly recommend. The portions do run on the smaller side for the price in my opinion, but worth it for the atmosphere!
Will definitely come back again to try the weekend menu!

β β β β β We had a lovely last minute brunch at the Readerβs Garden Cafe. The place was very busy but service was friendly and timely.
We ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and Smoked Salmon Bagel. The portions were perfect for lunch and the food came out quickly.
The Pot Pie was baked fresh, very delicious and had a hint of thyme sneaking through.
The Bagel was excellent and the bagel:cheese:salmon ratio was perfect served with a twist of lemon.
Finally, the homemade lemonade spritzer was a delightful surprise - not too sweet but not too tart.
Will be coming back for sure.
