I have always supported decriminalization as the first step to legalization. Thomas Mulcair and our NDP Official Opposition Caucus have publicly stated their support for decriminalization. > Unfortunately, Stephen Harper, as head of government, has publicly stated marijuana will not be de-criminalized or legalized “on his watch.” In fact the Harper government recently put out new proposed guidelines that would make it illegal for medical marijuana users to grow even a small amount for personal use.I would be happy to receive any other comments you may have on federal issues of concern to you."

NDP just got a new voter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two times in as many years Randall, and his amazing staff, has acted as my advocates in dealing with federal government inertia. After I had jumped all the required hoops, and still not accomplished my goal with the feds, I contacted Randall's office and within 10 days of requesting an advocate, each time, my goals were effectively accomplished. I am thrilled with the commitment the staff have toward constituents. They are there for us!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When my spouse came to Canada Randall sent a letter a year later, saying welcome to Canada, here is my contact information if you need anything, etc etc. Not sure how his office was notified about us.
That is great but it was an empty promise letter and had not teeth.
We called his office, wrote emails, to discuss the happening with COVID and our suggestions ( my dad was pharmacist, my mother lab tech, and myself Journeyman Red Seal tech, specializing in automation, as well very well versed in immigration and migration, as well travelling during yellow fever, and Ebola to Africa ) So I thought we could have a cordial, discussion, sharing knowledge how to protect our community and country through COVID-19. ( My suggestions were strong border restrictions, two years ago )
At the very least, say hello; as his invite seemed genuine.
Especially since the invite had been made on his behalf.
I did not get any reply to this day.
