Our experience at Quantum Leaps Retreat was beyond what words could ever begin to express. Eternally thankful for the transformations that took place on that sacred land. Annette and Brian the stewards of the Land were phenomenal, gracious, kind and helped us create an experience that will last lifetimes. The Firewalk Ceremony, the Labriynth, the food, the Rumi Room, everything down to the detail was healing. Such a grateful heart. Thank you so much.

I have been to Quantum Leaps many times now, and am grateful for this sacred retreat space on wild and beautiful land. It is where I look forwards to coming to when I need to slow down and reconnect. Brian and Annette are friendly and gracious hosts who are happy to give you a tour or take you on an adventure if that is what you are after, or give you time and space to spend time alone. See you next time! Gratitude <3

We booked 2 nights renting the Lodge building at this property, and paid $60 extra for access to the hot tub. We left in anger after 1 night because of the hostile and unpleasant attitude of Brian, the owner. The pros are that the overall property is nice and the setting (other than the owner) is very peaceful. It is right beside the river, surrounded by forest and nature. The Lodge itself (which you can rent all of, which we did) is spacious, clean and well-appointed. A special feature of the property is their garden, which, for a donation, you can take some food out of. We got some apples off of their tree, some leaves for a salad, and some berries, and left appropriate compensation. Eating fresh food out of a garden was very nice. The property promotes itself as a “spiritual retreat”, providing tranquility and relaxation. The property would be very appropriate for that. Unfortunately, the owner negates that entirely. Our unfortunate experience with Brian started when we arrived and received the orientation tour. While this was happening, one of my seven-year-old twin girls (who were temporarily out of sight as I was on the tour) picked up a cheap plastic timer and accidentally dropped it, but it was not damaged in any way. I'd have paid for it immediately if it had been damaged. As was appropriate she immediately apologized to Brian. Remarkably, Brian went off on her, angrily saying: “What good is an apology? I don’t care about that. What I want to know is that you won’t do it again, and I want to know what you’re going to do to make amends. Are you willing to go into the garden pick raspberries to make this up to me?” We were all a little shocked. She is after all only seven. Over the course of that evening and the next morning, Brian returned and raised the issue of the timer a few more times, suggesting an irrational preoccupation with it, and demonstrating a clear persisting anger over it. Being an experienced traveller and being used to being treated well by my hosts, I was taken aback by being treated this way in a place I was paying approximately $300 per night for. The next day we "broke a rule", which he is entirely intolerant of, by failing to replace the lid on the hot tub immediately, (the person using it went to shower first) thereby wasting perhaps $1 of electricity for the product I had paid an extra $60 for. He also wrongfully accused us of eating in the hot tub, contrary to the posted rules (that did not happen). He angrily denied us further access to the hot tub, despite the fact that I had paid extra for it. He then raised the issue of the timer yet again, and left. A short time later Brian came back yet again, angrily reiterated his refusal to allow us access to the hot tub we had paid for, and again raised the timer issue, before wandering away. This behaviour was literally bizarre. After this we demanded a refund for the unused night, which we received, and we packed and left. I would certainly never return. In summary, Brian humiliated one of my seven-year-old daughters for a simple accident that caused no damage, made another daughter feel guilty for not having precipitated a crisis by failing to ensure “strict compliance” with his inflexible rules (thereby wasting $1 worth of electricity for a product I paid $60 for), and made my other seven-year-old daughter cry for having to leave a place where she liked to play with the chickens. Recommendation: If you have children, don’t go. If you want to be left alone without the “Rule Police” checking on you frequently to ensure strict compliance with a myriad of rules, don’t go. You will get exactly zero relaxation or solitude. Note: there are other similar properties in the immediate area to choose as alternates.

My wife, our friend, and I were enjoying a lovely walk along the Blaeberry River while staying in Golden. We sought to walk home along the main road, turning up from the river on what we thought was an access road. Unfortunately, we were mistaken and it was in fact, a long private driveway. We were informed of this when the owner, Brian, literally ran at us to confront us about this. We apologized for our mistake and tried to calm him down by expressing that we are simply walkers who took a wrong turn. He chastized us, repeating several times “how would you like if I walked through your property?!” He initially insisted that we go back the way we came, despite the road we sought being only fifteen meters away. After many apologies, he relented and allowed us to proceed the few more steps on his driveway to the road. Yes, we were mistakenly on his driveway, but the intense and aggressive way this man charged to confront and berate three hikers who smiled and waved at him speaks volumes about his character and, likely, his mental stability. I hope to never make the mistake of encountering him again and I would advise others to do the same.

I've been coming to Quantum Leaps for an annual private retreat for the last 4 years. It is always the highlight of my year. Brian and Annette have created a sanctuary, a place to experience land and community healing you in a very special way. I recommend this place to everyone I know who is looking for a beautiful, deeply spiritual, peaceful and conscious place to explore and stay.

I really cannot say enough good about our experience at Quantum Leaps in the tipis. It was a really authentic and special experience, being able to fall asleep to the sound of the river and the fire crackling in the centre of the tent. Tons of blankets were provided which kept me toasty warm in sub-zero temperatures in mid-May. Annette and Brian were kind and helpful, but allowed us our privacy. Everything about this place is perfect and rejuvenating. We already cannot wait to go back to try out the other forms of accommodation they offer and maybe even a massage treatment! We deeply loved the mud flats and all of the small touches that make this property truly magical <3 thank you for this experience!!

My partner Erik and I stayed here for 3 nights and we never wanted to leave! The property is so welcoming and peaceful, you can truly feel the love and spiritual energy that surrounds the property, to provide everyone with a full body healing. Annette and Brain are amazing hosts and just all around beautiful people. We booked our stay in hopes of just getting away from the city and unplug from our everyday craziness for a few days... but we we got was so much more! I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to stay here, to grow and heal with my partner and within myself. We will definitely be back to experience and respect more of this sacred land. Thank you so very much for welcoming us. Ps 10/10 the best mud I have ever been in. :) ❤️

My partner and I just had an amazing weekend at Quantum Leaps! From the moment we arrived Annette and Brian were so very accommodating. We had the pleasure of having the whole property to ourselves for the entire weekend. It is such a peaceful place. Perfect for relaxing and self reflection. The walks along the river were awesome. What really made this property special was the labyrinth! Yes, labyrinth! If you get a chance to experience this property, do so. We sure will be back. Thank you Brian and Annette!
