Purple Berry Orchard - Perimeter Hwy
We are a family owned and operated saskatoon berry orchard just outside of Winnipeg. We are on the Perimeter Highway, 1 km south of Rosser Rd. We planted our first saskatoon bushes in 2007, and we planted more the next year and the year after that, for a total of about 10 acres of saskatoons.
Our emphasis is on providing fresh saskatoon berries to the local markets, and welcome U-pickers in-season. We machine harvest the berries and clean them, box them, and keep them refridgerated on site.
Harvesting fresh berries starts in July, and we freeze any excess berries to provide through the fall and Winter.

The field currently has a lot of big ripe berries with great prices and you can also contact them for frozen berries when fresh ones are out of season. I have been out there a few times this season already doing the Upick. The family are all great people, they are always very welcoming, smiling and helpful with any questions you may have. They take a lot of pride and care in their orchard to make sure everyone has a great time. Don’t forget to visit the animals! I will be returning every year & thank you for showing me around today!

Picked a 4L pail full of juicy berries in about 30 ish minutes. Had never been before, stopped in after trying and failing to find a u-pick strawberry place that hadn’t been picked out.
They were also very accommodating with my grandmother who needs a walker.
A real hidden gem. We will be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tons of big ripe berries. Friendly staff. We picked for an hour or so and each had a pail full. They also have alpacas you can see from a distance (cute!). I'm so thankful there's a local place for fresh berries - great to freeze and have throughout the year.
Just keep an eye on their Facebook page for when they're open and closed! It seems like a short window. This year we went July 16 and it may have been their final upick day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be aware of small spiders and fluffy caterpillars. Berries are sweet and delicious but it will take more time to pick them than strawbery. If you have small kids you can go with stroller on the field. They accept credit cards. Friendly and helpfull people work there

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful berry orchard just a few minutes north of Portage ave on the perimeter hwy. They are very welcoming and helpful especially Exavior, who was very polite and informative. There is an abundance of berry's to be found on this family run farm You can either buy pre-picked or or u pick. Good chance you'll get a chance to say hi to the alpacas while you're there. Also being on the perimeter hwy makes for a nice easy trip rather than a long drive out to the country. We had no issue's with bugs either.
