Purdypuppy

They came highly recommended by an acquaintance of ours. We found them very friendly and helpful. It was hard to find a true breeder of small dogs so we were thrilled to find Purdypuppy. We were able to meet the mom of the puppies which was never an option with the other brokers we went to see.

I purchased a puppy "Oscar" 2 months ago and couldn't be happier. Oscar is a very energetic pup. He was easy to train, (almost to smart) and my vet told me a very healthy puppy. Angie took the time to explain the best way to potty train. At 14 weeks he has learned to sit lay down and is potty trained (we are still working on shake a paw but I'm sure by next week we will have mastered this as well) My thanks to Angie for my new best friend. We got our first puppy years ago from Purdypuppy and had a great experience, which can't be said for the second time we went back. First time, we were the only people there and the puppies came out of their pen looking healthy, clean and happy. We only saw the two Bichon puppies we came to see and went over the details with time and care. Couple of years later, we made an appointment for a Havanese puppy and had a totally different experience. We arrived on time and knocked on the door, but didn't get any responses. After 15 minutes of no response to knocking or phone calls, we thought that we were just expected to go in, since we made the appointment and were expected customers. The man in charge was escorting another family out when we opened the door and came charging down on us right away. In front of another family and our family, he lectured my father very condescendingly saying, "Did I tell you to open this door? Do you think it's okay to open the door or not? Is this what you teach your children? I'm not sure where you're from (we're not Caucasians) but here, we don't do things this way." We were shocked and embarrassed, while the other family looked very uncomfortable and embarrassed as well. We muttered our apologies, saying we had waited and didn't hear anyone, so thought it may run like a shop with appointments. The man completely ignored us, making us wait outside for another 10 minutes watching while he stood right next to us saying goodbye to the other family. When we went in, it was not at all like our first visit, with puppies barking and whining in cages everywhere. We were overwhelmed and our puppy was dropped in front of us without explanation, with stinky mucus running down her eyes and dirty, matted fur. Nonetheless, we fell in love with her and took her after asking about the infection and medical history. We love our puppies, who had been a part of our family for years now, but would never go back there again after experiencing the changed attitude, which was both patronizing and ignorant, and the horrible second experience we had.

Until August 2018, we never had a pet. If we were going to get any pet, it would have to be a Shih Tzu puppy. We did our homework and decided to get our first pup from PurdyPuppy. It was love at first sight - when that e-mail with the pictures came in - we knew that little female puppy was going to be ours! The owner, Angie is amazing! She answered all our e-mails and questions and she explained everything we needed to know in order to provide everything that our new first puppy needed to get started. Before we decided to reserve a puppy, we made an appointment and visited the Purdy Puppy Kennels to see what the parents look like and how they behave. We only saw the dad, Bugsy, who was quite friendly and quiet - not even one bark! Pictures of the pups are not available until they are about 8 weeks old, so as not to disturb to mom. We didn't see any puppy pictures before it was time for our vacation - so we didn't leave a deposit. We thought we'll pick a puppy up when we return after 2 weeks, it should still be there. *** WRONG THINKING! *** No reservation means if someone else comes along and falls in love, they will get the puppy! That's exactly what happened ... Lucky for us, Angie had 3 more puppies (from two other Shih Tzu parents Jack and Jade), that were born a month after Bugsy's little ones. This time, we acted right away and ended up getting the best and cutest puppy in the world. Since we got our pup, our whole family hasn't stopped smiling. The first few weeks were not easy, but this little one is so nice and kind, very active and playful, it's unbelievable. She is so happy when someone comes home that she almost jumps out of her skin! Angie takes very good care of her dogs and their puppies so we highly recommend her and PurdyPuppy of Weylin Marsh, if you are looking for a healthy, happy pure bred puppy. Besides Shih Tzu, she also has several other breeds! Thank you Angie and PurdyPuppy for giving us such a beautiful little dog!

I debated writing this review but feel I need to share the experience I had with what seems to me a mass selling operation. I was referred to Purdy Puppy by an aquaintance who had good luck with their puppy they had adopted from them a couple years ago. Right away upon arrival I felt like a burden to the owner, he was rather rude and short with me. I felt like a burden asking questions and wanting to see the facilities. But I was so excited to meet what I hoped would be our newest family member, so I over looked the first couple red flags. I am not sure if its new owners or what the story is but this is not the experience my aquaintance described, rather opposite. The dogs and puppies were in cages, not kennels in which looked like they had not been cleaned in a least a week and they looked sickly. Not under weight just tired, and not puppyish. hard to explain, they just did not look healthy. I did not feel comfortable bringing what looked to be a sick puppy home to my other dogs, so I had no choice but to leave empty handed. I have heard of puppy mills, and in my opinion, this place suits the definition. I feel so bad for these puppies/dogs. Please if considering this place, ask for a tour, ask for information regarding the parents, and let them know you want to see the facilities. Something just seems off.

Angie was a pleasure to deal with and we are delighted with the Shihtzu puppy (Schmedley) that we purchased from her. All of her dogs are kept inside and clearly very well taken care of.

I love my dog, that is the good thing out of this. My experience was horrible with the husband. He was complaining about delivery and parking in Toronto, after I paid $1000 dollars. Loud guy who scared my puppy with his loud impolite demeanor. He made my experience a horrible one. My puppy was delivered in a small bag, and he had thrown up in it. He was so scared when I got him.I don't think the dogs are treated well.

Today while i was walking my dog I realize how lucky i am to have Eeva , she is smart, healthy, cute ... Our friends got a dog from purdypuppy a year before us her name is Biggie and after the great experience they had we decided to go with purdypuppy too and today I’m really happy we did. Thank you for your hard work, we love our fur baby she is three years and 7 months ?
