The city of Airdrie has a population of just below 50,000, and is the second most dense city in the province of Alberta. Airdrie was primarily known as a railway village in the late 1800s while the Calgary and Edmonton Railway was being built. The city of Airdrie only consisted of railway buildings until the early 1900s when farms and barn houses were built to begin development in the area. Airdrie is home to Nose Creek Park which is the host of the annual Airdrie Festival of Lights.
We feel that a move to the city of Airdrie is a great decision for you and your family if you do not want to be in a big city like Calgary. Airdrie is just outside of Calgary and many people commute to and from it either for work and school.
